Only in recent years, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have become economic and social organiz... more Only in recent years, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have become economic and social organizations which constantly create new jobs, more often for qualified people with proper expertise. The fall of socialism created new opportunities for small businesses and represented a different stage of market reform in these countries. In this context, governments created a new legislation to encourage small investors, but, frequent changes in the tax system encourage them to use tax dodging strategies in order to reduce government's profits and tax payments. This paper provides an empirical analysis of this small business sector development, and draws attention to the importance of the potential roles of SMEs in the process of economic and social transformation.

The new economic environment, characterized as volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous, has b... more The new economic environment, characterized as volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous, has been generated through the evolution of a world in which online reputation and corporate social responsibility have become closely interconnected. In this study, we assessed whether corporate social responsibility is a goal with multiple implications for the image of the organization and its financial results, which present a model for measuring online reputation in the context of optimizing corporate sustainability. We used an econometric approach that showed that the main purpose of the model is to determine the best value of the dependent variable by providing a number of new sets of explanatory variables on the exact quantification of the company's online reputation. The main results can support the decision-making process in building and maintaining online reputation in the short or long term, and the information provided is useful for implementing online reputation management programs. We provide a rather nuanced picture of the relationship between the credibility of corporate sustainability claims, financial security, and the chance of preserving the online reputation built. The research shows that online reputation risk management is no longer optional; online reputation must become a strategic resource for sustainable business.

A lightweight and energy-efficient joint is capable of decreasing the peak actuator power and/or power consumption per gait cycle, while adequately meeting profile-matching constraints. The aim of this study was to highlight the dynamic characteristics of a bionic leg with electric actuators with rotational movement. Three-dimensional (3D)-printing technology was used to create the leg, and servomotors were used for the joints. A stepper motor was used for horizontal movement. For better numerical simulation of the printed model, three mechanical tests were carried out (tension, compression, and bending), based on which the main mechanical characteristics necessary for the numerical simulation were obtained. People choose online healthcare services because they can receive instant answers and communicate with specialists in their comfortable environment at the right time. The purpose of this study was to understand the impact of virtual communities on the intention to use telemedicine. The model is based on a combination of consumer desire (psychological objective) and loyalty through promotional formats (economic objective), as well as data collected from 442 respondents analyzed using structural equation modeling. The research results show that by analyzing target groups in social networks, content can be individualized, and an accurate measurement of e-patient satisfaction must be conducted in order to improve the experience of future consumers of telemedicine services. An overview of hemp for fibre market opportunities for Romania Hemp has been cultivated by man fo... more An overview of hemp for fibre market opportunities for Romania Hemp has been cultivated by man for its multiple uses: its solid fibres for textiles, its nutritious oilseeds and the medicinal and therapeutic properties of its resin. Hemp is a technical plant that has been cultivated in Romania for over 2,000 years, its main use being to obtain fibres for making clothing. Before 1989, in Romania hemp was cultivated in large areas, exceeding 50,000 hectares, ranking 4th in the world. After 1989, interest in cultivating hemp declined, and by 2008 this crop has almost disappeared. Starting from national production capacity, this paper is presenting an overview of the textile market in Europe, with a view on the hemp market, and the marketing possibilities for Romanian hemp, based on calculations retrieved from official data available on INTRACEN and the National Institute of Statistics of Romania. The study of production capacities was analysed in terms of cultivated areas and productions obtained in Romania, reported in official national statistics. For a market projection, the data were extracted from the trade map database. The export potential was studied taking into account the harmonized standard codes for hemp.

In addition to focusing on the influence of travel intentions that has prevailed in practice so far, the use of VR is expected to have an impact on the travel experience on the spot. This exploratory research study was conducted with 824 respondents to identify the role of virtual reality in choosing a tourist destination, as well as the expectations of potential customers that could rekindle the tourism industry for a post-pandemic world. The results pointed out that highly used virtual reality applications for destination marketing aim to create a certain image for a tourist destination and to communicate this to the outside world in a consistent and coordinated manner. Today, this concept interferes with the international process of assessment and with the convergence of accounting. However, it is more likely for a certain period of time to develop both paradigms in parallel and then become convergent, thus solving the paradox of intangible asset valuation. Another challenge would be to extend and adapt this research to the specifics of different national economic systems, to generalize the relationship between intellectual capital and company performance and other countries and industries. This chapter analyzes the answer of the questions regarding recognition, presentation, and evaluation of intellectual capital, and also various controversial issues of this concept, as it is presented in the current project of the IASB and FASB.

Various groups of stakeholders may have opposite interests in relationship with related companies, generating moral dilemmas. An analysis of organizational and economic accounting patterns in commercial real estate is provided with examples of companies listed to Stock Exchange. These common patterns are in accordance with all professional standards, but still do not offer sufficient information for an informed investment decision of an average investor. The choice of accounting policy is one of the reasons why real estate industry is perceived as a high risk, as a high degree of subjectivity applies through the choices of accounting treatment. Conflicts between stakeholders should be avoided due to the direct impact on a company's development perspectives and value.

It was determined and favored by the ultra-fast advances of technology, especially information technology, but also by the manifestations of the digital economy or information economy. Digitization has fundamentally changed the way companies operate while providing new entities with opportunities for survival and development. Websites have become powerful advertising and commercial tools, being used in all areas of activity. The technologies used to create and develop websites have diversified and become increasingly complex.
