During this time, the concept of community uses the location of residence as the basis for its determination. The assumption is that those who live in these locations are the most familiar with their surroundings. The high displacement of urban residents causes some of them do not always know the place of their residence. This condition can affect the success of development programs that involve the community. To help implementing the program successfully, training on community participation-based map development is needed. The objective of this paper is to offers a way to find out people’s perceptions of where they live, so that they have a collective awareness of their environment through map development. As a point of departure, we problematise the question of how the incidence of recurring floods (and flooding) is diversely interpreted as both event and as an experiential reality, insofar as the manifestation of the floods never entirely occupies a state of either normalcy or exception. It is this fluid state of inbetweenness in which these diverse securitisation trajectories are explored. The first entails the recent emergence of Metro Manila's disaster Command Centres, marking a break from conventional ways of responding to flood risks. The second case study engages with Jakarta City's coercive use of its municipal police unit – the Satpol P.P. – in relocating urban informal settlers who ...

Moreover, the urban-suburban contexts are now more adaptable as tools and infrastructure have been developed across regions to accelerate the advances in information technology. Hence, the use of information technology has become a promising instrument for the increase of health awareness in parents. Mobile phone technology is now accessible and it can enhance the knowledge of parents in circumstances of emergency pertaining to the health of their children. This information can also guide parents in deciding whether or not the condition they face is an emergency, and the appropriate homecare they can undertake before visiting a medical professional. This study aimed to develop a suitable mhealth application for Indonesian parents using symptombased questions and offering homecare options. A mobile phone-based application based on a symptom-based approach was developed with the help of several experienced physicians and with current medical evidence. The user interface was made simple with interactive questions for they easy access of parents. This application was then implemented on a group of parents of average socioeconomic and education background. A focus group discussion was subsequently conducted to evaluate the product and as a medium of sharing knowledge pertaining to child emergency situations and to later introduce the application. The session ended with a workshop on the use of the application. These activities accorded several insights: a positive response was obtained with regard to the clear directions for the detection of symptoms in children and the helpful homecare recommendations; however, a negative feedback was received about the use of medical terminology and about the user interface. The use of m-health for parents in developing countries is a promising instrument for the increase of parental awareness. This application should be further developed in the future to become more practicable and to enhance its ease of use by parents.

Regarding urban context, city has a double burden diseases in addition to infectious diseases as well as for degenerative diseases because life's pattern in city increasingly aggravating. Environmental risk factors are related to the type of diseases, evidently. Hence, in realization these several kind of diseases is not comparable and proportional to the number and coverage of health services. In particular children health, their growth is very sensitive to environment exposures. So environment factors could be the important aspects that consider with the children activities. At least, it happened in Depok City, one of middle city where close to the capital city of Indonesia. Through this research we would like to see the relevance of urban spatial elements especially the environmental aspects with the health risk factors of children compared to the number of health services and their coverage. In addition, we will also conduct spatial mapping of Depok City against the risk factors of children's health on the urban environment. The methodology that we used was a mix method between qualitative through FGD and quantitative including GIS. Based on the findings, it is known that the health risk including children due to the decrease of environmental character in Depok is divided into three classes that are dominated in high risk class. However, health facilities such as hospitals, Puskesmas (small hospitals), treatment services are low in coverage. This suggests that there is less integration between the spatial characteristics of the region and urban planning specifically related to health issues.

The geographical location, archipelagic region, tectonic formation, largest population, and tropical climate condition have put Indonesia into the highest disaster risks of tropical geo-hazards as well as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, landslides, floods, and forest fires. How Indonesia deals with the natural disasters is very important issue nowadays not only for the government but also for academia to produce knowledge related to disaster management. The availability of disaster management planning was extremely important to have proper disaster management. This paper provides the experiences of Indonesian cities in conducting disaster management planning processes through two case studies Jakarta and Yogyakarta. This study found that the disaster management plan in both cities considered the level of risks, not only the level of disaster impacts through risk mapping process. The different size of city also brought the different way of mapping and planning processes. These findings suggest that contrary to rational comprehensive planning, which solely conducted by the experts, the disaster management planning should be conducted inclusively through collaborating among government, experts, and vulnerable groups.
