These outcomes are intention to be late for work (ILW), creative performance, and service recovery performance. Data obtained from frontline bank employees in three waves at one-week apart and their managers in Saint Petersburg in Russia were used to test the aforementioned relationships. The results demonstrate that TIO is an immediate outcome of servant leadership. TIO gives rise to lower ILW and higher creative and service recovery performances. The aforesaid findings reveal that servant leadership mitigates ILW and boosts both creative and service recovery performances only through TIO. Implications for theory and practice are discussed in our paper.

That is the reason why research on ICTs in the hotel sector has kept growing lately. The present paper offers a review of the literature dedicated to ICTs in the hotel management, analyzing the papers published in 7 prestigious journals from the field of Hospitality Management. Design/Methodology/Approach: The 147 papers analyzed −published over a 27-year period− have been studied according to a variety of criteria such as their research methods, perspective, statistics utilized, topics covered, technologies, authors and countries. Findings: The conclusions suggest a promising future regarding both ICT applications for hotel management and research in this area. Research limitations/Implications: Concerning limitations, the most important one stems from the selection of works subject to examination, since our analysis dealt with papers published in only 7 journals, other publication sources being left aside. Nevertheless, the present paper can prove useful both for researchers and for hotel managers, since new trends are emerging in both contexts, with regard to technologies themselves as well as to some of their uses. Originality/value: One of the most important contributions made with this work is the preparation of a list with the topics covered by the papers under examination. Also, to our knowledge, no studies have so far specifically tried to identify the technologies utilized in hotel management by means of a literature review.

Our study also examines the relationships between political skill, supervisor incivility, coworker incivility, EE, and OCB-I. Data were gathered from a judgmental sample of 375 customer-contact employees in 22 four-and five-star hotels in Seoul, South Korea in 2017. These employees self-administered the questionnaires. Structural equation modeling was used to assess the aforementioned linkages. Congruent with our predictions, political skill is a buffer against the detrimental effects of supervisor and/or coworker incivility on EE and OCB-I. As hypothesized, supervisor and coworker incivility erode employees' OCB-I and aggravate their EE. In addition, political skill mitigates employees' perceptions of supervisor and/or coworker incivility on EE and OCB-I. uncivil behaviors can be reduced at work (Cho et al., 2016; Hershcovis, Cameron, Gervais, & Bozeman, 2018). Data were collected from 393 Korean TSM users. The structural equation modeling results reveal that TSM users' confirmation of expectation enhances both utilitarian and hedonic values. TSM users' confirmation of expectation elevates their satisfaction. Such users' perceptions of utilitarian and hedonic values also foster their satisfaction. TSM users' perceptions of hedonic values and satisfaction as well as their perceptions of sunk costs for TSM usage reduce their proclivity to switch. The negative effects of sunk costs on switching intentions are stronger among users who are more satisfied with TSM usage. Implications of the empirical findings are discussed in the study.

Design/methodology/approach Using data from a sample of 336 full-time frontline employees across 15 five-star hotels in Seoul, South Korea, over a time lag of one month, hypothesized relationships were analyzed with structural equation modeling. Findings The results suggest that AL has a greater effect on follower PsyCap and SIB than TL. In examining the role of PsyCap as a partial mediator, the results support the hypotheses that AL and TL trigger follower SIB directly but at the same time boost follower PsyCap, thus enhancing follower SIB. Practical implications The greater impact of AL on follower PsyCap and SIB suggests that the practice of corporate human resource management should place an emphasis on AL traits in ...

An online and an on-site field survey were administered to respondents aged 50 years old and older who use the Internet relatively little. A total of 243 questionnaires were collected and analyzed. The results drawn from the structural model indicate that, first, the satisfaction level regarding the interpretation service positively affects the balance of nature and place attachment (place dependence and place identity) of tourists. Second, as tourists hold higher regard for the balance of nature and stronger place attachment to a tourist site, they tend to hold a stronger destination loyalty; conversely, anthropocentrism correlates negatively with destination loyalty. The results indicated that their overall satisfaction with their department affected positively their organizational commitment but not the behavioral intention to pursue career in the tourism-related fields. Organizational commitment, on the other hands, exerted a positively significant influence behavioral intention to pursue tourism-related career. The results of this study underscored the needs for the educators to manage students' psychological attachment to the department they belong to and their major field of study. Continuous relationship-building efforts should be made for the students to pursue tourism-related career after graduation. Such efforts include efficient communication between faculty and students, extended supports from the school and alumni to the students, and last but not the least, sufficient supports from colleges.

A survey was carried out with 312 front-line staff from 15 five-star hotels in Seoul, Korea. A one-month time-lag design (Time 1: PsyCap and work engagement; Time 2: employee morale) was used to reduce potential common method bias. The hypothesized relationships in the model were tested using structural equation modeling. The results suggest that work engagement partially mediates the effect of PsyCap on job satisfaction and affective organizational commitment. Specifically, front-line employees with high PsyCap are more engaged with their work and more likely to display job satisfaction and affective organizational commitment. The study concludes with a discussion of its empirical findings, strengths, theoretical contributions, and practical implications. Limitations and their implications for future studies are also reviewed.

Some employees seem to be able to shake off this negative energy and offer service recovery, while others collapse under such onslaughts. This study of 243 frontline employees of casual dining restaurants in Korea found that customer orientation is an important factor in employees’ ability to avoid emotional exhaustion and provide service recovery. The study first establishes the harmful relationships among customer verbal aggression, emotional exhaustion, and (successful or failed) service recovery performance. By incorporating customer orientation into the model, the study documents its buffering role as a personal coping resource. In summary, (1) customer verbal aggression intensifies emotional exhaustion, (2) emotional exhaustion mitigates service recovery performance, (3) customer verbal aggression does not mitigate service recovery performance, (4) emotional exhaustion ...
