In this intervention, the population of this study was selected by the convenience sampling method and 38 married women were randomly assigned to the experimental (n= 12) and control (n= 12) groups in Tehran in 2018. The Differentiation of Self Inventory (DSI) and Marital Satisfaction Inventory (MSI) were completed by married women. The control group received no training. The intervention included 10 sessions of self-differentiation training based on the Bowen theory. Twelve women participated in this semi-experimental project selected by convenience sampling as an experimental group and twelve women as a control group. The brief couple-based therapy was taught in 10 sessions based on techniques of Bowen therapy and four components of differentiation. The data were analyzed by SPSS v. 23 software.

Laboratory tests include Atterberg limits and unpressurized compressive strength on the natural soil and soil samples contain different weight percentages of the additive. The results reveal that the addition of the additive up to 5% of the soil dry weight led to significant changes in the physical and mechanical properties of improved soil such as increasing plasticity index, increasing compressive strength and consequently, increasing the self-healing on clay soil. These changes are functions of the weight percent of the additive and the age of the samples. Moreover, laboratory results were investigated by SEM and FESEM images. Data was collected from uniaxial test and Scanning Electron Microscope images indicate that the maximum amount of self-healing occurred in the samples with 5% nano-clay on the sixtieth day after the initial failure.

Currently, many plant essential oils and their active compounds have received attention because of their lethal effect against arthropod pests such as herbivorous mites. In this study, contact toxicity of three formulated compositions based on synthetic thymol and menthol including menthol 5%, thymol 5%, and a mixture of menthol 5% + thymol 5% tested against eggs and female adults of T. urticae . Adulticidal results showed that menthol 5% + thymol 5% had the lowest LC 50 value (656.77 µl/l) 24 hours after the treatment. Likewise, the mixture was highly effective against T . urticae eggs and had the lowest LC 50 value (967.24 µl/l). Although, the LC 50 value of menthol 5% and menthol 5% + thymol 5% were not significantly different from each other but both of them had a significant difference with the thymol 5% in manner of adultici...

Research paper thumbnail of A study on packaging factors influencing on export development

Hence, the appropriate packaging for the producer generates necessary incentives for production, partly preserves them against zany opponents, and finally provides the customer with much more variety and choosing the right products. Packaging in fact, is a major contributor to the performance of customer relationship management. This survey determines five packaging factors influencing on export development including communications, infrastructure, awareness, design and technical extraction. Through the implementation of principal component analysis, the effective role of packaging components on exports is measured. Exploratory research model indicates that all five packing components were effective in export development of food industry.

They respond to such threats by an efficient antioxidative enzyme system such as catalase. The presence of petroleum in soil is a stressful environmental factor for plants. In this study, cellular and biochemical changes were investigated in the shoot of lentil grown in the crude oil-polluted soil. Transmission electron microscope micrographs showed various injuries in the level of subcellular content including nucleus, chloroplast and mitochondria. In the treated samples, catalase activity and its kinetics factors (Vmax and Km) were different from the control. In the treated, Km of the enzyme was lower than that of the control. Temperature and pH profiles of the enzyme were different in the control and treated samples. Catalase purification in both treated and control samples showed that two catalase isoforms were expressed in the treated sample in comparison to the control, in which only one type of catalase was detected.

Research paper thumbnail of A functional genomics screen identifying blood cell development genes in Drosophila by undergraduates participating in a course-based research experience

G3: Genes|Genomes|Genetics, 2021

Undergraduate students participating in the UCLA Undergraduate Research Consortium for Functional... more Undergraduate students participating in the UCLA Undergraduate Research Consortium for Functional Genomics (URCFG) have conducted a two-phased screen using RNA interference (RNAi) in combination with fluorescent reporter proteins to identify genes important for hematopoiesis in Drosophila. This screen disrupted the function of approximately 3500 genes and identified 137 candidate genes for which loss of function leads to observable changes in the hematopoietic development. Targeting RNAi to maturing, progenitor, and regulatory cell types identified key subsets that either limit or promote blood cell maturation. Bioinformatic analysis reveals gene enrichment in several previously uncharacterized areas, including RNA processing and export and vesicular trafficking. Lastly, the participation of students in this course-based undergraduate research experience (CURE) correlated with increased learning gains across several areas, as well as increased STEM retention, indicating that authent...
