Among the problems due to the increasing of solid waste to human health include the low birth weight and cancers. The problem of solid waste also endangers the ecosystems of animals and plants and pose them to the threat of extinction. One of the measures that can be taken to reduce the amount of solid waste generation is by practicing the 3R concept. Therefore, a study was conducted to investigate on the behaviour of the residents staying at Felda Soeharto towards waste separation. The data collection is carried out in 2 stages: i) Part 1: Questionnaire survey; and ii) Part 2: Experimental awareness campaign. For Part 1, a self-administered questionnaire was distributed to the residents at Felda Soeharto to evaluate their perception in practicing the 3R concept in their daily life activities. The results will be analysed using SPSS software. In Part 2 of the data collection, an experimental campaign on waste cooking oil (WCO) was conducted for a duration of 2 months. The purpose of the campaign is to investigate the respondent's willingness to take part in the campaign. At the end of the campaign, the WCO accumulated were recorded and sent to the recycling facilities for disposal. From the results obtained, it can be concluded that majority of the respondents are willing to practice 3R concept. However, the lacked recycling facilities in the study areas discarded their practice.

Research paper thumbnail of Thermal Characteristics of Plastic Small Outline Transistor (SOT) Packages

IEEE Transactions on Components, Hybrids, and Manufacturing Technology, 1986

Surface mount plastic packages, including small outline transistor (SOT), small outline integrate... more Surface mount plastic packages, including small outline transistor (SOT), small outline integrated circuit (SOIC), and plastic leaded chip carrier (PLCC), are projected to be the next generation replacement for plastic dual in-line packages (DIP's). Relative to DIP's, surface mount packages are small in size and allow higher package density on a board, leading to higher electrical speed for system applications. However, their small size and high density mounting in close proximity to each other make thermal management more difficult. Thermal characteristics of one class of plastic surface mount packages, namely, small outline transistor 23 and 89 packages will be addressed. The most striking feature of these packages is their small size, meaning the effective package diameter is on the same order of magnitude as the board thickness. Junction to ambient thermal resistanee of these packages is less sensitive to package parameters, such as thermal conductivity of leadframe, molding compound, die bond, and chip size, than to variations in local printed circuit (PC) board temperature rise. About 80 percent of the surface mount package heat flows into the board at modest board temperatures, making the local mounting environment the greatest influence on thermal resistance. Experimental thermal resistance data for single component plastic SOT-23 and SOT-89 packages are reported. Both electrical parametric and infrared (IR) techniques were used to measure these quantities. The most noteworthy observation is that the external thermal resistance is about 2/3 of the total thermal resistance and thus controls the package's thermal behavior. The effect of density of mounting on thermal resistance of the packages is measured by IR imaging experiments. Package pitch, relative orientation of neighboring packages, and one-sided versus double-sided mountings are parameters that were varied in these experiments.

This investigation was carried out at the Experimental Farm of Ismailia Agriculture Research station, Ismailia Governorate, Egypt, during the three summer seasons of 2015, 2016 and 2017, to study the important economical traits of muskmelon as fruit width, fruit length, flesh thickness, cavity diameter, total soluble solids, ascorbic acid content, carotenoids content, fruit weight, total yield/vine and fruit number/vine. A greater ratio of GCA/SCA than unity was detected for most studied traits, revealing that the inheritance of these traits was mainly controlled by additive gene effects. On the contrary, both TSS and ascorbic acid content traits, nonadditive type of gene action seemed to be more prevalent. The maximum significant MP heterosis in desirable direction (112.4%) was recorded for ascorbic acid followed by total yield/vine (101.0%), number of fruits per vine (100%), TSS (65.3%), flesh thickness (62.1%), fruit weight (59.8%) and fruit length (53.6%). Heterobeltiasis (over the best parent better, BP) was observed and the maximum significant manifestation was orderd as: Ascorbic acid (108%), number of fruits per vine (69.4%), both TSS (%) and cavity diameter (58.8%) and total yield per vine (49.8%). The cross 3M-637-D (P 2) x 86E2143 (P 4) was derived from low x high general combiner parents for total yield/ vine and exhibited the highest mean yield, highest heterosis, highest SCA effects for yield. It showed also, significant or highly significant desirable SCA effects for eight important traits.
