The exploitation of AODs forums offer students the possibility to teach and learn anytime and anywhere. They also provide students with the time needed to process learning, share ideas and points of view on e-course topics. The group size in the AODs is a substantial variable that affects the interaction and the participation of students. The purpose of our research lays in understanding the influence of the group size participating in the AODs on the development of critical thinking skills in information technology for students of the Faculty of Education, and improving students' performance in online discussion forums. In this research, 103 university students from the bachelor's degree have participated in the study. The participating students are studying the Computer Application in Education Course, and the Education Technology Course on the Blackboard e-learning Management System, during a 15-week semester. The findings of the research have revealed very significant conclusions; and the researcher has come up with various recommendations and suggestions for future studies and further research.

The research has been conducted during the academic year 2014/2015 on a sample of (281) introductory year students at Dammam University who correctly responded to the research tool. The final research sample has been sorted according to gender: (97 male students representing 34% and 184 female students representing 66%). The results revealed that 91.6% of the student sample uses the social networks, 40.5% of which uses it to communicate with relatives and friends, 7.6% to exchange views and ideas with others and to discover other cultures while 9.5% are using it for leisure and entertainment, while only 2.2% of the sample under study uses it, for the time being, as educative assistance. The study has also handled the mental image of the introductory year students (first year in university) towards the uses of the social networks and its applications in education. The results revealed the existence of positive mental images of the introductory year students in the following axes: a) support the interaction between the teachers and students and among the students themselves; b) content and education activities support; c) support to the learner-based education strategies with a high scoring on a scale of (5 points). The results revealed as well the existence of statistically indicative differences in the mental images of the introductory year students towards the use of social networks and implementation thereof in the education process according to gender (males and females) for the benefit of male students. Based on the study results the two researchers have presented a number of recommendations and pedagogic applications and more of the future suggested studies.

The study was conducted on a sample of students of the College of Education at Imam Abdu Rahman bin Faisal University (IAU) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The number of the sample students is 36, and they are among the students who are enrolled to study design and production of instructional media course (EDU195N) in the second semester of 2016/2017. The students involved are divided into two experimental groups. Group (1) consisted of 19 students who have studied the learning content through static infographics via WhatsApp platform. And group (2) consisted of 17 students who have studied the learning content through animated infographics via WhatsApp platform. In the overall, the results revealed that infographics effect the development of some learning outcomes. Besides, the results also demonstrated that static infographic type has more effects on developing skills of designing and producing visual learning materials and recognizing its elements and principles compared to the animated type. And this suggests deep consideration of integrating infographics in teaching e-courses, as well as considering the characteristics and appropriateness of each of the designing types, static versus animated when implemented in the instructional processes for better outcomes for learners.

H... more The importance of using the interactive video has been widely recognized in e-learning courses. However, there are several variables that can affect learners' engagement and their learning through watching digital interactive videos. the main purpose of this study is to examine whether long interactive videos can improve students' performance in tests, retention of learning in the long term, and reduce the cognitive load compared to medium and short videos. An experimental research was conducted on a sample of (63) students of the Faculty of Education at Imam Abdul Rahman University bin Faisal who are registered to study both the courses of Education Technology (EDUM 195N), and Design and Production of Multimedia (EDUM 330N). A three-group experimental design was used. The results were analyzed and interpreted in the light of cognitive load theory and Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning. In light of the research findings, the researcher presented a set of recommendations for use in the design and development of content of interactive digital video-based learning environments. The research results can mainly benefit stakeholders and education practitioners, specifically universities, schools, and companies in providing interactive digital video-based learning and training in e-learning and distance learning environments.

The sample consisted of (67) students from the Arab Open University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dammam Branch. The participants were divided into four experimental groups according to the design Factorial (2 × 2): Group 1: (19) students with active learning style provided with immediate feedback; Group 2: (17) students with active learning style provided with delayed feedback; Group 3: (15) reflective students provided with immediate feedback; Group 4: (16) reflective students provided with delayed feedback. The tools include observation card, satisfaction scale with e-learning environment and learning style scale. The results showed statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental groups, which received immediate feedback in acquiring the design and production skills of blogging and satisfaction with e-learning environment. The results also showed that students with active learning style were superior in their performance on each of the performance practical skills for the design and production of blogs and satisfaction with e-learning environment.
