The study aims at plunging deep into the ideologies, values and societal trends set by the leading personas through the language they select to empower and market themselves as brand. Latent Themes and meaning with reference to individual, power and society will be analysed and discussed thoroughly. As Pakistani fashion industry is a blooming avenue it is beneficial to understand the important underlying motives. The palpable themes stemming from the critical analysis of the discourse were timelessness, classic and Elegant Fashion fusion endeavour, believing on fate, modern women perspective, self-appraisal, self-reliance and satisfaction, success and achievements, strong business, conservation of culture and concern for community. Seven interview scripts were taken from online fashion magazines websites. The six scripts from online resources were studied in-depth qualitatively by using critical discourse analysis technique based upon Norman Fairclough's assumptions. HSY emerged as strong cosmopolitan exercising great insight-based driving force to bind conservative fashion ideologies and modern needs together.

The study is an effort to groom university students as global individuals in the perspective of the status of English as a lingua franca. The study fills the gap in ELT studies to incorporate modern technology into English language pedagogy to improve Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) in Pakistani universities. The main research questions focus on the issues faced by English language teachers while teaching the module Communication skills in BS (Hons.) classes without modern technology. The research tools include observations of the BS (Hons) second semester classrooms and interviews of the English language teachers of a private sector university. The findings of the research suggest that English language needs to be taught as a living language instead of a bookish language by establishing state of the art English language classrooms or language labs to integrate four skills of English language for interactive teaching and learning process. It is recommended to Higher Education Commission (HEC) and stake holders in Pakistan to revise policies to assess students" written and oral communication skills for qualifying English Communication Skills as a core subject. It is imperative to improve university students" communication skills to face the contemporary challenges in the global village.

Indeed, the value of the concept of text genre in the acquisition of translation competence has already been addressed in previous works (Montalt, 2003; Montalt, Ezpeleta and García de Toro, 2005; Ezpeleta, 2005; or García Izquierdo, 2005a). Now, as we have said above, translation competence is a multifaceted concept that is made up of a number of sub-competencies and we believe it is possible to define in greater detail exactly which particular translation sub-competencies could be acquired by using text genre as a teaching aid. More specifically, the main hypothesis we will attempt to illustrate here is that this concept would be especially useful for acquiring what is known as communicative and textual subcompetence. There are various misconceptions and charges against Othello as a jealous character. This article is aimed at countering that claim. What Shakespeare wants to show is not only the jealousy but also certain minute aspects that are often neglected in criticism. There are many other things, which contribute a lot in Othello's tragedy and constitute the main action of the play. Jealousy has very little to do with Othello's tragedy. Throughout the play there is no direct physical clash between Cassio and Othello which could prove that Othello was influenced by Cassio at all. We are shown Iago arousing sexual jealousy in Othello and giving dramatic imagery to his venomous tongue. The skillful Iago traps Othello.

Present study aims not only at testing of vocabulary enhancement through short stories but also checks its effects on rural and urban population at secondary level. Present study uses Pre-test, post-test experimental design. Before the commencement of study, 50 students took their pre-test from rural site and 50 students took their pre-test from urban site. Only those 20, 20 students were selected from both sites whose accumulative score was almost the same. After this, five short stories were taught to both groups for five weeks with the same methodology. After the completion of coaching, a post-test was conducted. Marks of pre-test and post-test of both rural and urban groups were compared to see difference in learning. Data was analyzed statistically by using SPSS 20 for windows. Analysis of data proved that urban group had statistically significant improvement as compared to rural group.
