Virtual tour is a tourism activity that is carried out through web browsing using media such as i... more Virtual tour is a tourism activity that is carried out through web browsing using media such as images or videos to provide users with the feeling of being in the tourist destination. This activity can also be used as a means to promote tourist attractions. One group that is expected to adopt this virtual tour technology is Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis), as this group has a role in promoting local tourist attractions. Virtual tour is a relatively low-cost promotional tool compared to other promotional media, yet with a wider reach of audience. This research aims to identify the understanding and ability of Pokdarwis Padang City related to the acceptance of virtual tour technology. This study was conducted through questionnaires involving 48 leaders and members of Pokdarwis of Padang City, where technical knowledge, ease of use, and perception of the benefits of virtual tour formed the basis of the questions. Descriptive analysis results show that the majority of Pokdarwis members lack of adequate knowledge of virtual tour and the appropriate use of technology in creating virtual tour. On the other hand, Pokdarwis members are already able to use social media but lack of adequate technical skills in creating virtual tour content.

T... more This research aims to identify the potential of West Sumatra as a heritage tourism destination. This research is descriptive qualitative research. Data is collected through observation, documentation studies and interviews, then data reduction, data presentation and conclusions will be carried out. The research results show that there is a lot of heritage potential in West Sumatra, but the management of tourist destinations is not yet optimal, lack of exposure to cultural philosophical values and long distances are still challenges that must be faced.

Wi... more The COVID-19 pandemic has brought the development of the tourism industry to a very low point. With social restrictions, people are expected not to travel in advance and can keep their distance. This research aims to further deepen public understanding regarding virtual tourism and its use in the city of Padang during the lockdown at various tourist objects. This research found that the government introduced virtual tourism as an alternative amid distance restrictions, because tourist can enjoy the tourism object without having to be physically present. The availability of many media that can be used as tools in displaying virtual tourism. This research provides suggestions so that the relevant government can provide socialization to the community so that virtual tourism can be used as an alternative to traveling during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The research method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a design method that uses data collection techniques obtained from several journals published on the internet and also uses several library sources from electronic media. Based on research using Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) as a design method, a product is produced in the form of a video One-day virtual tour of Kota Pariaman using several stages. The first stage is determining the concept, the second stage is determining the design, the third stage is the collection of materials, the fourth stage is assembly, the fifth stage is testing and the sixth stage is distribution.

The lockdown policy and travel restriction has ban people from traveling. The areas quarantine in West Sumatera has decrease numbers of visitors visiting tourism attractions. More people staying at home because of the coronavirus pandemic resulting the needs of alternative way of traveling becomes necessary. This research will explore the alternative ways of travelling during the pancemic. The research finding is that virtual tourism can be one of the alternative ways of traveling for tourists.

This study aims to find out whether the art of Ambek-Ambek Nagari Koto Gadang - Koto Anau Dance can be used as a cultural tourism attraction in Solok Regency. The research method used is descriptive qualitative using the theory of tourist attraction. Data collection is carried out by observation, interview, and documentation methods. The results of this study show that Ambek-Ambek Dance meets the criteria of good tourist attraction; 1) uniqueness, ambek-ambek dance has a distinctive uniqueness and is different from other dances, namely in terms of dance history, naming, movement philosophy, herding music, costumes, and special rules in the presentation of dance. 2) originality, pure ambek-ambek dance comes from the traditional traditions and daily life of young mudi Koto Anau in ancient times in finding a partner. 3) Authenticity, Ambek-Ambek dance has a distinctive beauty ...
