These nanoparticles as a chiral catalyst have been employed to promote the direct asymmetric Mannich reaction. The corresponding products are obtained in high yields with high level of diastereoselectivity (up to 99:1 dr) in the presence of Fe3O4– l-proline. Also this heterogeneous catalyst can be recovered easily and reused many times without significant loss of its catalytic activity. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

This work has been successful in achieving the comparison trend under different conditions. Good yields of the desired products were obtained by ultrasound-assisted reaction utilizing of Fe 3 O 4-L-proline NPs. The major advantages of this protocol are accessible conditions, easy work up, shorter reaction time, anti-selectivity, and higher yields in comparison with other methods.

The structure of ionic liquid supported on Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles (IL-Fe 3 O 4 NPs) characterized by various analyses such as FE-SEM, EDX, XRD, NMR, FTIR and VSM. The catalytic activities of this catalyst are examined in the Mannich reaction for synthesis of β-aminocarbonyl compounds under ultrasonic irradiation. The recyclability of catalyst is investigated, and the results have indicated that the catalyst can be recycled six times without obvious activity decreasing.

ABSTRACT A family of novel ionic liquid (IL) with L-alanine and choline chloride as environmentally benign materials has been synthesized and grafted on Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) using easy preparation techniques. The structure of IL supported on Fe3O4 NPs (IL-Fe3O4 NPs) is characterized by various techniques such as field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), Energy Dispersive X-Ray (EDX), XRD, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), and vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM). A stereoselective synthesis of isoxazolidine derivatives in good yields, through a three-component 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction using by IL-Fe3O4 NPs, is reported. The use of IL-Fe3O4 as a catalyst allowed us to prepare diastereoselective isoxazolidine derivatives. Conformational analysis compared with the 1H NMR data of the products obtained allowed us to determine the absolute configuration. In this paper, the density functional theory (DFT) method with 6-311G (d,p) basis set is employed for solution phase (solvent = CHCl3) of the isoxazolidine derivatives.

The yield of crude chitosan was 87.8%. The structure of chitosan nanoparticles was determined by FT-IR, SEM and XRD analysis. Then, diastereoselective synthesis of dihydropyrroles was done using chitosan nanoparticles in water under ultrasonic irradiation. This polymeric nanocatalyst could be used instead of the old toxic commercial organic basic catalysts and could be readily isolated from the reaction mixture and recycled several times without significant loss of catalytic activity.
