Sacha inchi is a creeping perennial herb plant that belongs to the Euphorbiaceae family. Sacha in... more Sacha inchi is a creeping perennial herb plant that belongs to the Euphorbiaceae family. Sacha inchi, or Plukenetia volubilis is a perennial plant with large, oil-filled seeds. sacha inchi plants began to be widely cultivated. However, in practice it is still planted directly in the field, without going through the nursery first, so the quality of the plants produced varies greatly. Seeding is a process that determines the quality of the plants to be cultivated. Planting media is the media used to grow plants, where roots or roots will grow and develop. A good planting medium must meet requirements such as not containing pest and disease seeds, free of weeds, able to hold water. This study aims to see the effect of the mixture and to get the best mixture of organic matter that supports the growth of Sacha inchi seedlings. This research was conducted from June to August 2022. The research method used was a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 5 treatments consisting of: Top soil : sand (A), Top soil : sand : burnt husks (B), Top soil : sand : goat manure (C), top soil : sand : bamboo leaves (D), top soil : sand : leftover crickets (E). Data analysis with F test and further test with BNT test level of 5%. Giving organic matter shows better growth than without giving organic matter. Mixture of top soil, sand, and crickets growing media showed optimal growth in number of leaves, number of perfectly opened leaves, widest leaf width, longest leaf length, plant height, fresh weight of plants, and fresh weight of roots.

Pasir merupakan bahan pengisi dalam adukan yang berfungsi untuk mengurangi penyusutan, butiran ya... more Pasir merupakan bahan pengisi dalam adukan yang berfungsi untuk mengurangi penyusutan, butiran yang cukup keras dan gradasi yang bervariasi,untuk menghasilkan spesi yang tahan terhadap pengaruh cuaca serta tahan juga pengaruh lain. Daerah Payakumbuh dan Kabupaten Limapuluh Kota merupakan daerah penghasil pasir sungai. Pasir sungai merupakan pasir yang bersumber dari penggaliaan atau penambangan, Sungai-sungai yang terjal memiliki aliran yang deras, sehingga deposit dari partikel batu-batuannya akan bervariasi cukup besar pada suatu jarak tertentu yang biasanya butir halusnya tidak banyak dan batu-batuannya cukup bersih. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan adalah untuk mengetahui banyaknya kadar lumpur pada agregat halus (pasir) yang ada di Payakumbuh dan Kabupaten Limapuluh Kota. Ada beberapa pengujian untuk yang dilakukan untuk mengetahui kualitas pasir. Salah satu pengujian yang dilakukan adalah dengan pengujian kadar lumpur dalam pasir dengan cara endapan lumpur. Dari data yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa kondisi pasir disaat hari hujan, sangat mempengaruhi besaran kadar lumpur yang ada pada pasir tersebut. Pada hari hujan kadar lumpur pada pasir memiliki nilai yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan di hari panas. Untuk pasir taram memiliki nilai kadar lumpur 1 % pada musim panas sedangkan di musim hujan terdapat 4,2 %. Pasir Agam memiliki nilai kadar lumpur 2,1 % pada musim panas sedangkan di musim hujan terdapat 7,4 %. Pasir Sinamar memiliki nilai kadar lumpur 13,3 % pada musim panas sedangkan di musim hujan terdapat 9,1 %. Pasir Lampasi memiliki nilai kadar lumpur 1 % pada musim panas sedangkan di musim hujan terdapat 2,1 %.

Uncaria gambir (Ug) is the main ingredient for producing Gambir which is an international trading... more Uncaria gambir (Ug) is the main ingredient for producing Gambir which is an international trading commodity that Indonesia has shared its production of 80 % in the world. This paper investigates the type of Ug cultivation system in West Sumatra and its contribution to farmers income security. Rapid rural appraisal was used for collecting data. Economic analysis is carried out consisting of Benefit and Cost ratio (B/C Ratio), net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), sensitivity test on the discount rate and Gambir production. Six Ug cultivation systems were found, namely Ug-Mono, Ug-Rubber, and Ug-Areca nut in Lima Puluh Kota regency (LPKR) and in Pesisir Selatan regency (PSR) Ug-Durian, Ug-Durian-Jengkol and Ug-Durian-Petai. In general, The Ug cultivation systems combined with Durian and Jengkol or Petai, that were found valuable additional crops, were more stable in income generation against to the fluctuation of Ug production and Gambir price. Among the six, the highest B/C Ratio was found in Ug-Durian-Jengkol (2.8) while the lowest was in Ug-Mono and Ug-Rubber (1.9). Moreover, Ug-Durian-Jengkol show better NPV and IRR in the most conditions of Gambir price from 10,000 to100,000 Rp kg 1 as well as Gambir production from 2,400 to 4,800 kg y 1. On the other hand, NPV and IRR of Ug-Mono,-Rubber or-Areca nut systems sharply decreased with the decrease of Gambir price. These systems relied more on Ug production and Gambir price in the income generation. It exhibited the vulnerability of income structure of these systems. From the results, to secure farmers income from volatility of Ug production and Gambir price, this research suggested Ug cultivation systems combining with durian or other profitable cash crops in West Sumatra.

Organic matter is very important because it is able to improve the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil. Organic wastes cannot be directly utilized by plants and must be composted first by soil microorganisms into nutrients that can be absorbed by plants. The use of microorganisms and organic matter in agriculture is done because it can increase the availability of nutrients in the soil and its absorption for plants and form soil structures to become more loose, reduce the weight of clay-textured soil and increase the amount and biological activity of the soil which synergistically can increase seedling plant growth. This research was carried out in Lima Puluh Koto district of West Sumatra Province for 8 months from March to October 2018. The purpose of this study was to obtain the most appropriate dosage tithonia of compost and microorganisms to increase cocoa plant production. The design used in factorial randomized block design with DMNRT follow-up at a level of 5%, consisting of 2 factors, the first factor was the dose of Tithonia compost and the second factor was the dose of Pseudomonas fluorescens + Trichoderma harzianum microorganisms. responses from parameters observed were N, P, and K soil and plants, as well as the average weight of wet cocoa beans per plant. The results showed no interaction between compost tithonia and Pseudomonas fluorecens and Tricoderma harzianum microorganisms on all response parameters in cocoa plants.

Padahal sampah organik sisa dapur ini memiliki potensi yang baik jika diolah menjadi kompos. Komposisi sumber sampah di Indonesia adalah sampah organik merupakan komponen terbesar, mencapai diatas 70%, dimana sampah dapur atau sisa makanan mencapai 20-65% tergantung kelas ekonomi masyarakatnya. Maggot BSF memiliki potensi yang besar dalam mengolah berbagai macam jenis sampah, mulai dari sampah pasar hingga sampah rumah tangga dengan waktu yang relative singkat. Tanaman gambir termasuk dalam famili Rubiaceae. Dalam proses budidayanya, tanaman gambir masih dibudidayakan secara tradisional, dan untuk membuka lahan petani masih memakai metode pembakaran. The design used in factorial randomized block design with DMNRT follow-up at a level of 5%, consisting of 2 factors, the first factor was the dose of Tithonia compost and the second factor was the dose of Pseudomonas fluorescens + Trichoderma harzianum microorganisms. responses from parameters observed were N, P, and K soil and plants, as well as the average weight of wet cocoa beans per plant. The results showed no interaction between compost tithonia and Pseudomonas fluorecens and Tricoderma harzianum microorganisms on all response parameters in cocoa plants.

Daerah Payakumbuh dan Kabupaten Limapuluh Kota merupakan daerah penghasil pasir sungai. Pasir sungai merupakan pasir yang bersumber dari penggaliaan atau penambangan, Sungai-sungai yang terjal memiliki aliran yang deras, sehingga deposit dari partikel batu-batuannya akan bervariasi cukup besar pada suatu jarak tertentu yang biasanya butir halusnya tidak banyak dan batu-batuannya cukup bersih. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan adalah untuk mengetahui banyaknya kadar lumpur pada agregat halus (pasir) yang ada di Payakumbuh dan Kabupaten Limapuluh Kota. Ada beberapa pengujian untuk yang dilakukan untuk mengetahui kualitas pasir. Salah satu pengujian yang dilakukan adalah dengan pengujian kadar lumpur dalam pasir dengan cara endapan lumpur. Dari data yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa kondisi pasir disaat hari hujan, sangat mempengaruhi besaran kadar lumpur yang ada pada pasir tersebut. Pada hari hujan kadar lumpur pada pasir memiliki nilai yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan di hari panas. Untuk pasir taram memiliki nilai kadar lumpur 1 % pada musim panas sedangkan di musim hujan terdapat 4,2 %. Pasir Agam memiliki nilai kadar lumpur 2,1 % pada musim panas sedangkan di musim hujan terdapat 7,4 %. Pasir Sinamar memiliki nilai kadar lumpur 13,3 % pada musim panas sedangkan di musim hujan terdapat 9,1 %. Pasir Lampasi memiliki nilai kadar lumpur 1 % pada musim panas sedangkan di musim hujan terdapat 2,1 %.

Uncaria gambir (Ug) is the main ingredient for producing Gambir which is an international trading... more Uncaria gambir (Ug) is the main ingredient for producing Gambir which is an international trading commodity that Indonesia has shared its production of 80 % in the world. This paper investigates the type of Ug cultivation system in West Sumatra and its contribution to farmers income security. Rapid rural appraisal was used for collecting data. Economic analysis is carried out consisting of Benefit and Cost ratio (B/C Ratio), net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), sensitivity test on the discount rate and Gambir production. Six Ug cultivation systems were found, namely Ug-Mono, Ug-Rubber, and Ug-Areca nut in Lima Puluh Kota regency (LPKR) and in Pesisir Selatan regency (PSR) Ug-Durian, Ug-Durian-Jengkol and Ug-Durian-Petai. In general, The Ug cultivation systems combined with Durian and Jengkol or Petai, that were found valuable additional crops, were more stable in income generation against to the fluctuation of Ug production and Gambir price. Among the six, the highest B/C Ratio was found in Ug-Durian-Jengkol (2.8) while the lowest was in Ug-Mono and Ug-Rubber (1.9). Moreover, Ug-Durian-Jengkol show better NPV and IRR in the most conditions of Gambir price from 10,000 to100,000 Rp kg 1 as well as Gambir production from 2,400 to 4,800 kg y 1. On the other hand, NPV and IRR of Ug-Mono,-Rubber or-Areca nut systems sharply decreased with the decrease of Gambir price. These systems relied more on Ug production and Gambir price in the income generation. It exhibited the vulnerability of income structure of these systems. From the results, to secure farmers income from volatility of Ug production and Gambir price, this research suggested Ug cultivation systems combining with durian or other profitable cash crops in West Sumatra.
