Ambarella leaves (Spondias dulcis Parkinson) and soursop leaves (Annona muricata Linn.) are potential sources of suitable antioxidant compounds. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity and the relationship between antioxidants and total phenolics from the combination of S. dulcis and A. muricata leaf extracts. S. dulcis leaves, and A. muricata leaves were macerated with 96% ethanol and then formulated with a combination of extracts (1:1, 2:1, and 1:2). Each was tested for its antioxidant activity by the DPPH method. The ethanol extract of S. dulcis leaves had an antioxidant activity value of 36.72±4.01 ppm with a total phenol of 76.84±0.50 mgGAE/g extract, an ethanol extract of A. muricata leaves of 81.45±8.19 ppm with a total phenol of 104.48±7.55 mg GAE/g extract and a combination of extracts with a ratio of ethanol extract of S. dulcis leaves and ethanol extract of A. muricata leaves (2:1) of 29.98 ± 0.37 ppm with a total phenol of 36.99 ± 0.98 mgGAE/g extract. The results showed that the phenolic content of the ethanol extract of A. muricata leaves was more significant than the combination (2:1), which had the most excellent antioxidant activity among the other comparisons. Total phenolic is inversely related to antioxidant activity. Antioxidant activity is not only played by phenolic compounds.

Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui struktur senyawa fenolik yang memiliki aktivitas anti... more Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui struktur senyawa fenolik yang memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak etil asetat biji honje (E. elatior). Isolasi senyawa fenolik dilakukan dengan metode maserasi, fraksinasi dengan kromatografi kolom gravitasi (KKG), dan kromatografi lapis tipis (KLT). Uji aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) dan penentuan struktur senyawa menggunakan spektroskopi UV-Vis, FTIR, NMR, dan MS. Isolat yang diperoleh berupa gum kuning sebanyak 18 mg dari 3 kg sampel kering. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan menunjukkan isolat dari ekstrak etil asetat memiliki aktivitas yang sangat kuat dengan IC 50 1,32 µg/mL. Hasil analisis dengan spektroskopi UV-Vis, FTIR, NMR, dan MS menunjukkan isolat sesuai dengan rumus molekul C 7 H 6 O 4 yang dikenal dengan asam protokatekuat (asam 3,4dihidroksi benzoat).

Active compounds with antioxidant activity were isolated from ethyl acetate extract of namnam ste... more Active compounds with antioxidant activity were isolated from ethyl acetate extract of namnam stem (C. cauliflora L.) that had undergone maceration and fractionation by gravity column chromatography. The compounds were later identified by by using UV-Vis Spectrophotometry, FTIR, LCMS and 1 H-NMR. Ethyl acetate extract of namnam stem showed considerably high antioxidant activity (IC 50 value 4.68 ± 0.035 ppm). The results of analysis by UV-Vis and FTIR showed carbonyl group conjugated with an aromatic ring DW EDQG , max 330.22 nm), chromophore group of alkene (C=C) at band II max QP DQG IXQFWLRQDO JURXSV VXFK DV 2í+ FP-1), C=O (1729.23 cm-1), C=C (1652.64 and 1611.99 cm-1 &í2 DQG &í+ ortho (738.23 cm-1). LCMS (m/z 270.9246) and 1 H-NMR data showed seven proton signals on the aromatic ring at carbon position C-3 at / H 6.86 ppm (1H, s), C-6 at / H 5.95 ppm (1H, d, J=1.95 Hz), C-8 at / H 6.25 ppm (1H, d, J= 1.95 Hz), C-¶ and C-¶ at / H 7.03 ppm (2H, d, J=7.87 Hz), C-¶ and C-¶ at / H 6.87 ppm (2H, d, J= 7.87 Hz) so that the structure was identified as a flavonoid which was 4 ', 5,7-trihydroxy-flavones or known as apigenin. The isolated apigenin had very strong antioxidant activity, as shown by IC 50 value of 5.18 ± 0.014 ppm.

Colt coral has not been studied and explored especially endophytic fungi associated with the coral. Endophytic fungi are highly potential for the production of antioxidant and anticancer compounds. This research aimed to study the antioxidant and cytotoxic activities of fermentation extract from endophytic fungi from colt coral. Filtrate and mycelium extracts were obtained from static and shake fermentations of isolate SKF 15. Antioxidant and cytotoxic assays were conducted by free radical scavenger 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and AlamarBlue methods, respectively. The result showed that FD extract provided the highest antioxidant activity with inhibition of 49.36% at 200 ppm of DPPH. Variation of fermentation time (3-21 days) demonstrated the highest activity with inhibition of 66.97% for antioxidant assay (7 days) and 81.13% for cytotoxic assay (3 days). FTIR analysis presented the existence of hydroxyl groups O-H (3452.58 cm-1), C=C groups (1668.43 cm-1); CO hydroxyl group (1230.58 cm-1), and C-H sp 3 groups (2941.44 cm-1). Based on LC-MS analysis, FD extract has a mass of m/z 305.63, [M+H] + , predicted as dihydroquercetin (C15H24O7).

Furthermore, these species have been used in traditional medicine to treat fever, pain, and dysentery. Several reports have also extensively studied the leaves, seeds, stembark, and bark of Murraya from 1965 to 2023 to explore their natural product composition. Various phytochemical studies have revealed the isolation of 413 compounds recorded, comprising coumarins, terpenoids, flavonoids, and aromatics, as well as alkaloids, which constitute the largest proportion (46.9%). This study aims to determine the optimum conditions for hydrolysis of soybean protein with papain enzyme and their cytotoxicity against the MCF-7 cells. Soybean protein was isolated using an acid precipitation technique. Then, the protein isolate was hydrolyzed using papain enzyme with variations of papain concentration 0,5; 1; and 5% (v/v) and variations of incubation time 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 hours at 50 °C. The hydrolysates were tested for their degree of hydrolysis (%DH), molecular weight profile using SDS-PAGE, and cytotoxicity against the MCF-7 cells through an in-vitro assay. One of the plants with flavonoids is patat (Phrynium capitatum), which is usually used as food wrapping material. This study aims to quantify total flavonoid content, antioxidant activity and identify flavonoids from patat leaves ethyl acetate extract. Patat leaves sample cleaned, dried, and grinded. Grinded patat leaves were macerated gradually for 2 × 24 hours with n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol solvent. The extract undergoing total flavonoids test guided with AlCl3 and CH3COONa. Salah satu tanaman yang berpotensi sebagai sumber antioksidan alami adalah Alkesa (Pouteria campechiana). Tanaman P. campechiana mengandung senyawa fenolik, flavonoid, tanin katekat, monoterpen, dan seskuiterpen. Senyawa flavonoid dan fenolik dilaporkan memiliki aktivitas antioksidan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menguji aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak kulit batang P. campechiana dan profiling senyawa metabolit sekunder pada ekstrak teraktifnya. Kulit batang P. campechiana diekstraksi secara bertahap dengan menggunakan pelarut organik dengan berbagai tingkat kepolaran diantaranya n-heksana, etil asetat, dan metanol. Masing-masing ekstrak dilakukan pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH. Ekstrak metanol memiliki aktivitas antioksidan terbaik dengan nilai IC 50 sebesar 73,89 ppm, diikuti oleh ekstrak etil asetat dan n-heksana dengan nilai IC 50 masing-masing sebesar 84,03 dan 339,10 ppm. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmengetahui aktivitas antioksidan dan total fenolik pada ekstrak dan kombinasi ekstrak etanol daun salam dandaun kelor. Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol. Ekstrak etanol daunsalam dan daun kelor serta kombinasi dengan formula 1:1; 2:1; dan 1:2 diuji aktivitas penghambatan radikalbebas DPPH (1,1-Difenil-2- Pikrilhidrazil). The flavonoid compounds in Chromolaena odorata leave extract are thought to dissolve calcium in kidney stones. Objective: This study aims to determine the activity of C. odorata leaves extract as a dissolution agent for calcium kidney stones and to characterize the active extract with a liquid chromatograph mass spectrometry. Methods: The leaves of C. odorata were extracted by ultrasonication method using 3 solvents in stages, namely n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol. The powder for kidney stones was immersed in an extract solution of n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol for 5 hours at 37°C. The reaction results were analyzed for their absorbance using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The fraction with the best activity was analyzed for phytochemical content with various typical reagents and LCMS/MS. Results: Methanol extract of C. odorata with a concentration of 10,000 g/mL can reduce calcium in kidney stones by 19,2 µg/mL. Based on phytochemical tests and LCMS/MS analysis, the methanol extract of C. odorata leaves contains compounds of the tannins, alkaloids, flavonoids, and steroids. Ambarella leaves (Spondias dulcis Parkinson) and soursop leaves (Annona muricata Linn.) are potential sources of suitable antioxidant compounds. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity and the relationship between antioxidants and total phenolics from the combination of S. dulcis and A. muricata leaf extracts. S. dulcis leaves, and A. muricata leaves were macerated with 96% ethanol and then formulated with a combination of extracts (1:1, 2:1, and 1:2). Each was tested for its antioxidant activity by the DPPH method. The ethanol extract of S. dulcis leaves had an antioxidant activity value of 36.72±4.01 ppm with a total phenol of 76.84±0.50 mgGAE/g extract, an ethanol extract of A. muricata leaves of 81.45±8.19 ppm with a total phenol of 104.48±7.55 mg GAE/g extract and a combination of extracts with a ratio of ethanol extract of S. dulcis leaves and ethanol extract of A. muricata leaves (2:1) of 29.98 ± 0.37 ppm with a total phenol of 36.99 ± 0.98 mgGAE/g extract. The results showed that the phenolic content of the ethanol extract of A. muricata leaves was more significant than the combination (2:1), which had the most excellent antioxidant activity among the other comparisons. Total phenolic is inversely related to antioxidant activity. Antioxidant activity is not only played by phenolic compounds.

Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui struktur senyawa fenolik yang memiliki aktivitas anti... more Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui struktur senyawa fenolik yang memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak etil asetat biji honje (E. elatior). Isolasi senyawa fenolik dilakukan dengan metode maserasi, fraksinasi dengan kromatografi kolom gravitasi (KKG), dan kromatografi lapis tipis (KLT). Uji aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) dan penentuan struktur senyawa menggunakan spektroskopi UV-Vis, FTIR, NMR, dan MS. Isolat yang diperoleh berupa gum kuning sebanyak 18 mg dari 3 kg sampel kering. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan menunjukkan isolat dari ekstrak etil asetat memiliki aktivitas yang sangat kuat dengan IC 50 1,32 µg/mL. Hasil analisis dengan spektroskopi UV-Vis, FTIR, NMR, dan MS menunjukkan isolat sesuai dengan rumus molekul C 7 H 6 O 4 yang dikenal dengan asam protokatekuat (asam 3,4dihidroksi benzoat).

The compounds were later identified by by using UV-Vis Spectrophotometry, FTIR, LCMS and 1 H-NMR. Ethyl acetate extract of namnam stem showed considerably high antioxidant activity (IC 50 value 4.68 ± 0.035 ppm). The results of analysis by UV-Vis and FTIR showed carbonyl group conjugated with an aromatic ring DW EDQG , max 330.22 nm), chromophore group of alkene (C=C) at band II max QP DQG IXQFWLRQDO JURXSV VXFK DV 2í+ FP-1), C=O (1729.23 cm-1), C=C (1652.64 and 1611.99 cm-1 &í2 DQG &í+ ortho (738.23 cm-1). LCMS (m/z 270.9246) and 1 H-NMR data showed seven proton signals on the aromatic ring at carbon position C-3 at / H 6.86 ppm (1H, s), C-6 at / H 5.95 ppm (1H, d, J=1.95 Hz), C-8 at / H 6.25 ppm (1H, d, J= 1.95 Hz), C-¶ and C-¶ at / H 7.03 ppm (2H, d, J=7.87 Hz), C-¶ and C-¶ at / H 6.87 ppm (2H, d, J= 7.87 Hz) so that the structure was identified as a flavonoid which was 4 ', 5,7-trihydroxy-flavones or known as apigenin. The isolated apigenin had very strong antioxidant activity, as shown by IC 50 value of 5.18 ± 0.014 ppm.

Colt coral has not been studied and explored especially endophytic fungi associated with the coral. Endophytic fungi are highly potential for the production of antioxidant and anticancer compounds. This research aimed to study the antioxidant and cytotoxic activities of fermentation extract from endophytic fungi from colt coral. Filtrate and mycelium extracts were obtained from static and shake fermentations of isolate SKF 15. Antioxidant and cytotoxic assays were conducted by free radical scavenger 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and AlamarBlue methods, respectively. The result showed that FD extract provided the highest antioxidant activity with inhibition of 49.36% at 200 ppm of DPPH. Variation of fermentation time (3-21 days) demonstrated the highest activity with inhibition of 66.97% for antioxidant assay (7 days) and 81.13% for cytotoxic assay (3 days). FTIR analysis presented the existence of hydroxyl groups O-H (3452.58 cm-1), C=C groups (1668.43 cm-1); CO hydroxyl group (1230.58 cm-1), and C-H sp 3 groups (2941.44 cm-1). Based on LC-MS analysis, FD extract has a mass of m/z 305.63, [M+H] + , predicted as dihydroquercetin (C15H24O7).

This study aims to determine the optimum conditions for hydrolysis of soybean protein with papain enzyme and their cytotoxicity against the MCF-7 cells. Soybean protein was isolated using an acid precipitation technique. Then, the protein isolate was hydrolyzed using papain enzyme with variations of papain concentration 0,5; 1; and 5% (v/v) and variations of incubation time 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 hours at 50 °C. The hydrolysates were tested for their degree of hydrolysis (%DH), molecular weight profile using SDS-PAGE, and cytotoxicity against the MCF-7 cells through an in-vitro assay. One of the plants with flavonoids is patat (Phrynium capitatum), which is usually used as food wrapping material. This study aims to quantify total flavonoid content, antioxidant activity and identify flavonoids from patat leaves ethyl acetate extract. Patat leaves sample cleaned, dried, and grinded. Grinded patat leaves were macerated gradually for 2 × 24 hours with n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol solvent. The extract undergoing total flavonoids test guided with AlCl3 and CH3COONa. Salah satu tanaman yang berpotensi sebagai sumber antioksidan alami adalah Alkesa (Pouteria campechiana). Tanaman P. campechiana mengandung senyawa fenolik, flavonoid, tanin katekat, monoterpen, dan seskuiterpen. Senyawa flavonoid dan fenolik dilaporkan memiliki aktivitas antioksidan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menguji aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak kulit batang P. campechiana dan profiling senyawa metabolit sekunder pada ekstrak teraktifnya. Kulit batang P. campechiana diekstraksi secara bertahap dengan menggunakan pelarut organik dengan berbagai tingkat kepolaran diantaranya n-heksana, etil asetat, dan metanol. Masing-masing ekstrak dilakukan pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH. Ekstrak metanol memiliki aktivitas antioksidan terbaik dengan nilai IC 50 sebesar 73,89 ppm, diikuti oleh ekstrak etil asetat dan n-heksana dengan nilai IC 50 masing-masing sebesar 84,03 dan 339,10 ppm. The flavonoid compounds in Chromolaena odorata leave extract are thought to dissolve calcium in kidney stones. Objective: This study aims to determine the activity of C. odorata leaves extract as a dissolution agent for calcium kidney stones and to characterize the active extract with a liquid chromatograph mass spectrometry. Methods: The leaves of C. odorata were extracted by ultrasonication method using 3 solvents in stages, namely n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol. The powder for kidney stones was immersed in an extract solution of n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol for 5 hours at 37°C. The reaction results were analyzed for their absorbance using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The fraction with the best activity was analyzed for phytochemical content with various typical reagents and LCMS/MS. Results: Methanol extract of C. odorata with a concentration of 10,000 g/mL can reduce calcium in kidney stones by 19,2 µg/mL. Based on phytochemical tests and LCMS/MS analysis, the methanol extract of C. odorata leaves contains compounds of the tannins, alkaloids, flavonoids, and steroids.
