Monograph review: Construction and Restoration of Orthodox Churches: monograph / under the genera... more Monograph review: Construction and Restoration of Orthodox Churches: monograph / under the general editorship of V. Lykhohrai. Kharkiv: Rarities of Ukraine, 2019. 204 p. The modern restoration process of ancient sacred buildings requires thorough research aimed at analysing the architectural and structural solutions of Orthodox temples and their connection with the canonical requirements of the Church, identifying historical methods of construction and creating characteristics for the specifics of repair and restoration work. One of such demanded scientific works was recently published. This is a monograph “Construction and restoration of Orthodox Churches”, authored by Kharkiv researchers Dmytro Honcharenko, Serhii Yevel, Oleksandr Kharchenko and Pavlo Chechelnytskyi, as well as Viktoriia Lykhohrai, who also was responsible for the general editing of the publication.

In this article, based on the significant quantities collected by author filed materials, archive... more In this article, based on the significant quantities collected by author filed materials, archive and literary sources in traditional hutsul’s beliefs the treasure of historical-ethnographical Transcarpatia is considered. The traditional submission was revealed and the motive of a treasure finding and its main displays traced. The attention was focused on existence of two types of treasures “clear” in folk tradition, that is hidden without an appropriate charming, anyone could take them without harm to yourself and «unclear», which are under unclear force’ protection. The methods of protection and charms from possible harmful consequences of obtaining the ordered treasure were considered. Found out that the main of such beliefs dating back to antiquity and remnants of the archaic world-view of hutsuls with a set of different in meaning and origin of the phenomena of ancient and modern tradition. In this article was outlined the wide range of hutsulsfolk demonical characters of ethno-historic... more In this article was outlined the wide range of hutsulsfolk demonical characters of ethno-historical Transcarpathia –disease demons (plague, cholera, tetyukha etc.) On the basis of considerable amounts of the filed, archival and literary sources carried through historical-ethnographic reconstruction of traditional demonical world-view in disease demons among hutsuls of ethno-historical Transcarpathia.The genesis of a whole series of demonic images have been seen about and the local features of the names of the demoniacs have been identified and the demonic motives. The traditional concept was revealed and the hutsuls belief about chatracteristic figures tracked, their main features, functions and properties.
