Phosphate solubilizing bacteria can increase soil P availability. This study was aimed to isolate phosphate solubilizing bacteria from sugarcane waste compost and to test ability of the isolated bacterial to dissolve phosphate. The bacteria were isolated from three types of sugarcane waste, i.e. filter cake compost, bagasse compost, and a mixture of filter cake + bagasse + trash biomass compost. The potential colony was further purified by the Pikovskaya method on selective media. Eight isolates of phosphate solubilizing bacteria were obtained from all wasted studied. Amongst them, T-K5 and T-K6 isolates were superior in dissolving P from Ca 3 (PO 4) 2 in the media studied. The two isolates were able to solubilize P with solubilizing index of 1.75 and 1.67 for T-K5 and T-K6, respectively. Quantitatively, T-K6 isolate showed the highest P solubilization (0.74 mg / L), followed by T-K5 isolate (0.56 mg / L), while the lowest P solubilization (0.41 mg / L) was observed for T-K4 isolate. The increase of soluble P was not always followed by the decrease in pH.

Recently, it experienced a significant decline in citrus production. One of the causes is the presence of huanglongbing (HLB) disease which results in decreased production and plant mortality. The research aim to obtain information on the origin of citrus seeds and to map HLB incidence in eight subdistricts within Karo District. This research was carried out through direct questionnaires to farmers, visual symptoms scoring, and molecular detection with Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). At least two villages were taken from each sub-district and three orchards were taken from each village as samples in January 2019. The results showed that in general, citrus plants aged 3 to 15 years. Mostly, citrus planted in Karo originated from uncertified seedlings bought from local and outside seed breeders in the province of North Sumatra. The highest symptoms severity of HLB diseases based on leaf score...

The problems faced by the community are frequent flooding in the planting area, low pH, and attack of the plant by pests, disease, and weeds that reduce agricultural production. The purpose of community service in this activity is the Batuah Village community and Real Work Lecture-Nationality students who at that time served in Batuah Village were able to explain land empowerment and village agricultural potential and were skilled in carrying out land empowerment, overcoming the problem of nuisance organisms plants and recognize the agricultural potential in the village and then maximize its potential. Empowerment of agricultural land in Batuah Village needs to pay attention to the keys to successful management of tidal swamp land for sustainable agriculture, such as Water Management, Land arrangement, Adaptive and prospective commodity selection, and appli...

Regardless of its high availability, low economical value, and potential health benefits (natural source of iron, folic acid, antioxidant, antidiabetic, etc.), the utilization of the plant as a food ingredient is still limited. Black tea and coffee are very popular in Indonesia. Replacing sugar with artificial sweeteners is an alternative choice for reducing sugar consumption in sugar-sweetened beverages. The aims of this study were to study the effect of kelakai and milk addition in black tea and coffee beverages based on sensory characteristics, and to develop a formulation of kelakai beverages with high consumer acceptance. The sensory observation showed that coffee was better in masking putrid aroma and milk helped to reduce bitterness, astringency, and distinct aroma from the plant. Milk coffee was chosen to be optimized with further adjustment in sweetness (0.02%) and thickness (0.15%) levels. A maximum kelakai concentration that was still acceptable was evaluated using hedonic and forced ranking tests (n=53). The formulation with the highest consumer acceptance was milk coffee with ratios of kelakai : coffee : milk = 8:4:3 (v/v/v), sucralose 0.02% (w/v), sodium benzoate 0.04% (w/v), and CMC 0.15% (w/v). The sample was rated between slightly to moderately liked. It was ranked as the most preferred sample in the forced ranking test.

Water, 50% methanol and methanol extracts of S. palustris were tested for lipase inhibitory activity and lipid accumulation inhibition in 3T3-L1 adipocytes. For lipase inhibitory activity, the extracts and fractions with highest activity were separated and assayed again. Fractionation through column chromatography was done on the water extract to separate it into water, 50% methanol and methanol fractions. The 50% methanol and methanol fractions from the first column were fractionated again with a different column into water, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and methanol fractions. The result was the water extract showed the highest lipase inhibition while the methanol extract showed the highest lipid accumulation inhibition in adipocytes. In conclusion, S. palustris extracts with its lipase inhibitory activity as well as lipid accumulation in adipocytes suppression activity is promising for future research aimed at obesity management.

The cement board was processed with a size of 30 cm x 30 cm x 2 cm, a ratio of 3: 1, a density of 2 g / cm2, purified water content of 15%, hardener Ca(OH)2, CaCl2, MgCl2 with a concentration of 2%. Before making the cement board the hydration temperature test is carried out, then the resulting board is tested for the physical properties of the mechanics. And the grave test for 3 months. Data averaged and SD then tabulated and written in graphical form. The results of the study were hydration temperature: 31.38-33.50oC, inhibiting factors: 6.94-10.19%, board water content: 13.55% - 15.77%; density: 1.07-1.16 g / cm2; MoR: 22.96 - 30.31 kg / cm2, Compressive strength: 0.84 - 3.34%. Conclusion: Mouse purun can be processed into cement board. The good nature of the cement board is to treat CaCl2 2% hardener.

These edible ferns are regarded as important sources of Fe and other trace elements essential for human body. In order to investigate the effect of soil environments on the metal content, we analyzed eight elements (Al, Fe, Cr, Cu, Mn, Zn, Cs, and Pb) in the edible ferns collected from five different sites (riverside of Kahayan River near Bukit Rawi, farming area in Tangkiling, natural forest near Kasongan, and two peat soils at campus of The University of Palangkaraya and residential area in Palangkaraya city) in Central Kalimantan with distinguishable soil conditions. At the five sampling locations, we also collected an aluminum accumulator bush tree (Melastoma malabathricum) as a reference plant. The underground parts of S. palutris and D. esculentum accumulated higher concentration of Al and Fe than their leaf parts, whereas M. malabathricu...
