A method of finding the moduli space of de Witt super-Riemann surfaces in any genus is described.... more A method of finding the moduli space of de Witt super-Riemann surfaces in any genus is described. The approach is to use cohomology to compute the homomorphisms from the surface group into the superconformal group; it turns out that this is a simpler problem, with a smaller class of solutions than had been suspected. The description of super-Telchmtiller space as a complex supermamfold is confirmed.

It is shown that if there are non-trivial fermionic moduli~the space of such fields can behave in a highly anomalous way; with a module s~uctwe which depends strongly on the moduli. (This will onlyhappen for -1~k < 2, but this includes the case of superscalar fields.) The proofc are explicit for genus 1, the actual spaces of fields being computed; and implicit forhigher genus, via a spectral sequence. The implications for superstring theory are indicated.
