The ASEAN-Korea relationship has been established for over two decades, dating back to 1989. Cooperation between ASEAN and Korea is expected to continue and expand across various sectors for the next 20, 30, or even 50 years. Recognizing that the youth are the future faces of ASEAN and Korea, it is crucial to strategize the formation of relationships among them. Previous research has shown that there is a perception gap among the youth of ASEAN and Korea, primarily due to a lack of information and mutual interest. This gap in perception has led to issues such as misunderstandings, negative perceptions, and even significant discrimination between Korean and ASEAN youth, potentially impacting ASEAN-Korea relations in the future. What is being shaped now reflects the future of ASEAN-Korea relations. Several strategies, research efforts, and initiatives have been undertaken to address these issues. The 'New Development Strategy' has emerged as a new strategy that connects youth to youth, as implemented by the KDI School of Public Policy and Management, which serves as a representation of diplomatic relations between ASEAN countries and Korea in the field of education. To promote interaction and relationships among students, especially between Korean and international students, KDI offers various programs, including the formation of the ASEAN Forum. The ASEAN Forum represents ASEAN to all KDI students and members, serving as a successful bridge aligning ASEAN's vision of adaptability and connectivity. This essay employs the Analytic Network Process (ANP) analysis method. Data is obtained through in-depth interviews, surveys, and the collection of supporting documents such as articles, journals, or other relevant documents. The research respondents consist of student experts and practitioners from the KDI School student body. Through the ANP process, consensus among respondents regarding the issues and agreement on priority strategies has been demonstrated, which can be formulated into a New Development Strategy to enhance ASEAN-Korean relations from a youth perspective. This essay presents a New Development Strategy initiative based on the opinions and direct experiences of Southeast Asian students and Korean students. It can be used as a strategy to enhance relations between ASEAN and Korea by fostering connectivity among their youth populations.
