Kill the Radio: A CDR Swap Meet

This is a community for audiophiles from all corners of the earth to come together and be exposed to music they might never have heard before. The goal of this community is simple: We want to bring users together to swap mixed CDs (either in audio or data format) with another user on a bi-weekly or monthly basis.

Feel free to join if you want to expand your musical palette, but be aware that you should bring something to the table, too. Don't join if all you plan to do is share Britney or Avril tracks with our members! If you make CDs full of poppy tripe, you'll be banned.

In short,

Leave the manufactured, soulless music at home!

Every two weeks or so, there will be a post in the community asking our members if they'd be willing to partake in the latest swap. Reply to this opt-in post, and you will be paired by one of the moderators with another member. It's up to the two members to communicate what kind of music they'd be interested in receiving, what format (audio/data) they'd like to receive it, and what their mailing address is. (Don't worry...you're not making a CD for every member of the community every round. Just one for your partner.)

Joining is simple. Just tell us:

1. Who you are
2. What kinds of music you enjoy
3. What kinds of music you despise
4. What kinds of music you wish you knew more about
5. Three favorite bands
6. CDR preference (audio CD for car stereo or data CD for computer)

Please post this information within a few days of joining, and you MUST post it before you trade CDs

Once we get big enough, it will be fairly easy to grow our music collections 80 minutes or 800 MB at a time!

Also keep in mind that this isn't necessarily a community just for trading. Picked up the lastest album from so-and-so and have an opinion on it? By all means tell us. Any music-related topic is welcome; the CD-swapping may be why we all came, but the intelligent audiophilic conversation is why we all (hopefully) stay.
