Integrated microfossil analysis has been undertaken on the outcrop of Pre-Tertiary sediments from... more Integrated microfossil analysis has been undertaken on the outcrop of Pre-Tertiary sediments from the Bubuan island, Tanimbar, Maluku. This analysis is based on foraminiferal, calcareous nannoplankton and palynomorph content. Foraminiferal and calcareous nannoplankton analyses are conducted on 28 samples, whilst 7 samples were studied for palynomorph. The analysis applies the quantitative method which requires speciment counting for every single species.

Nannofossil analysis indicates that the age of the analysed samples belong to Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous that is supported by palynomorph result. On the other hand, result of foraminiferal analysis is doubtful since many contaminants exist within the analysed samples.
