A community for Long Islanders didn't exist so I took it upon myself (
candles) to conjure one from pixie dust. We're currently over 800 members strong. Please spread the word and keep the community growing. Feel free to post at will, but please be considerate of your fellow community members. There have been three sister communities created for subjects I feel don't belong in the main community. These are:

And I am positive I do not have to say this, which is why it has to be said. Please, for the love of David Hasselhoff, do not spam this community for any reason whatsoever. Think before you post. If you're caught posting spam, your membership to this exclusive community of lovely Long Island folk will be removed forever, as well as your ability to post. And let me tell you, my friend. You don't want that. There are nine circles of hell, and that is surely one of them. However.. (Isn't there *always* a however?) If you would like to post an advertisement for an event benefiting Long Island or Long Islanders, or possibly gain support (monetary or otherwise) for someone in need, it will be allowed no questions asked. I'm sure you can tell the difference between what's acceptable and what's not. I have faith in you. Please don't break a fellow LI'ers fragile beating heart. Thank you, and good day.
