Food is the Spice of Life

A community for anyone who likes to cook, is looking for ideas, or has any interest in meal plans. Feel free to post all things culinary here, be it a favorite recipes that you want to share, cooking advice, questions, suggestions, and of course your menus.
Please take the time to read the guidelines below before posting.

A few things to make your community visits more enjoyable:

Please do not use icons which use gratuitous nudity, pornography, profanity, or which include materials that refer positively to activities which are illegal. Posts which contain inappropriate icons such as referred to in this will be deleted.

1. Be respectful. Everybody says it but it's worth repeating - please be respectful of others. Rude, disrespectful, or completely off-topic posts and/or comments will be removed by the community admin. Persons who violate this rule more than once will be banned from posting and commenting in this community.

2. Posting and use of cut tags- Please put photos behind cut tags, along with exceptionally long posts. Please do not change the font or color of your texts. This messes with people's friend lists and can make post difficult to read.
Please be aware that this community is for discussion of cooking and for posting recipes, and the majority of those recipes are not required to be behind cut tags.

Please DO NOT turn off comments on any post. That defeats the purpose of a community, which is for discussion and exchange.

If you are posting a recipe please use the recipe name as your title. It makes it much easier for people to keep track of recipes and ideas in the community. :)

About copyright: the ingredients and titles of recipes aren't copyrightable. What *is* protected by copyright is the wording in the recipes. And you shouldn't put a big-name thing (person/restaurant/etc) in the title, or they could... um, get mad and start raising a ruckus. So if you have a recipe you like and you want to consider it yours: best to give it a new title and re-write the directions. Safest that way.

3. Looking for a recipe? Last but not least, all recipes posted here are catalogued in the Community's "Memories" section here on LJ. Click the "Memories" link above or from the main community page to access (as of last count) the over 2,500 recipes, tips, and notes that have been posted by community members. Please take the time to check out the memories section when you're thinking about asking for basic recipes or basic cooking questions.

4. NO SPAM. Please, people. You know what spam is. Don't do it. Period.
