Uz pomoć dostupne literature pruža se pregled doseljenja koje je stvorilo osnovu daljnjeg razvoja i modernizacije čije se faze određuju koristeći se metodama društvenih i povijesnih istraživanja. Ključne riječi: Martinci, Matična knjiga rođenih, demografski i društveni procesi, analiza prezimena, formiranje manjinske zajednice, integracija, modernizacija Uvod Selo Martinci pripada onim mađarskim naseljima u kojima prevladava hrvatsko življe i to s približno tročetvrtinskom većinom. Its land border section cuts through Baranya county, the northern larger part of which belongs to Hungary while the southern smaller part to Croatia. The latter is confined by rivers (Danube, Drava) and state borders (Hungarian and Serbian), thus forming a unique, isolated region within Croatia, lacking real internal centres. We argue, after investigating several geographical aspects of Baranya/Baranja, that ongoing developments may lead to further integration of the border region.

A dynamic process brought about changes from the 1920s onwards which had a great impact on the particular instruments and the local repertoires. Furthermore, instrumental ensemble formations changed as well. However, the tradition related to solo multipart instruments was not obliterated by the newly-appearing instruments and musical transformation processes; instead, it was incorporated, altered and reinterpreted-always according to the preferences and tastes of the time. Included in this process, a significant change took place in the attitude towards and evaluation of bagpipes and pipe music from the 1920s. The article aims to present the following processes by using musical examples:-the transformation of instruments and repertoires from the 1920s onwards (new groups of instruments, changing repertoire, forced alignment, continuous marginalization of solo multipart instruments);-the strengthening of the nationalist element from the 1940s onwards and later during the 1990s;-further developments added by the revival movements. Hungarian population in the Independent State of Croatia – demographic situation and the process ... more Hungarian population in the Independent State of Croatia – demographic situation and the process of disappearance in the period between 1941 and 1945. Hungarians in Croatia are a minority group in the Carpathian / Pannonian Basin, compared to Hungarians from other neighboring countries, which after 1918 lost most of their members partly by emigration, partly by assimilation. The most intensive disappearances of this minority group from Croatian areas are the decades between the 1931 and 1948 censuses. In this paper, we deal with the issue of emigration and social relations of Hungarians within the borders of the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) and under the administrative area of the National Liberation Army of Yugoslavia (NOV). With the help of archival material, we try to reconstruct those social circumstances of the war years that caused the emigration of a large number of members of this community.

The majority of changes are related to wars in former Yugoslavia between 1991 and 1995, but processes that have started around the crisis are lasting ever since. We are trying to outline these changes and reveal some of the weak spots of the issue using three categories of ethnic spaces: core area of an ethnic territory, ethnically mixed territory, contact zones. Furthermore, the article gives a complex overview of the major territorial rearrangements, and the causes leading to them: the parallelly changing identities and ethnic territories.

The emergence of three various wind-instruments with bellows, the question of their spread and function in the entire national culture has not been sufficiently researched in ethnographical reference resources of the above-mentioned countries. One of the best pieces of evidence is a book written by Bozidar Sirola about instruments with jacks (1937 Zagreb) where there is not a word about Baranya bag-pipes and bag-pipers and also no mention of five-voiced bellows bag-pipes among instruments. The former warring parties, and their economic and political elite, have succeeded in remaining in power during peacetime, and continue to influence the everyday life of the State, which is, to great extent organized along ethno-territorial lines of the institutional framework that was written in Dayton. In this paper we examined the system and logic of regional development as a consequence of this agreement, focusing on the development of transportation in the different ethno-territorial areas. We argue that because this field is delegated to the entities and thus to their ethnic elites, a large part of the development plans, policies and activities serve only the ethnic-based objectives of each entity, increasing the cohesion at their level instead of national cohesion. In this post conflict society, regional development is also used...

This natural resource is further enhanced by another advantage of the area ; knowledge and experience resulting from decades long geological, hydrogeological and hydrocarbon exploration. This knowledge has special importance as existence of subsurface resources is necessary, but not sufficient condition for providing sustainable energy for the population. This subsurface resource will only convert to useable energy source following adequately planned and executed exploration and exploitation program. Planning and execution starts with understanding and detailed mapping of subsurface startigraphy, hydrogeology and tectonics. As a first step areas with significant potential for geothermal energy utilization can be selected based on the results of geological and geophysical investigations. Although geothermal energy has been utilised, mainly for direct use purposes, for a long time, there are still a lot of untapped resources. This paper presents novel methods for outlining and assessing the theoretical and technical potential of partly still unknown geothermal reservoirs, based on a case study from the Dráva basin, one of the sub-basins of the Pannonian basin along the Hungarian-Croatian border. The presented methods include reservoir delineation based on combining geological bounding surfaces of the Upper Pannonian basin-fill units with a set of isotherms deriving from a conductive geothermal model. The geothermal potential of each identified reservoir was calculated by a Monte Carlo method, which was considered as being represented by the heat content of the fluids stored in the effective pore space ('moveable fluid'). The results underline the great untapped geothermal potential of the Dráva basin, especially that of the reservoir storing thermal water of 50-75°C, which has the largest volume and the greatest stored heat content.
