| | Ummmmmm, hi?**I have been keeping radio silent for no real reason other than I've been keeping busy with work and social and family and little minute details of life and it's not like I'm not reading my LJ, I am just incredibly sparse with commenting/updating/whatever-ing.So yes, in summary I am still in ur LJs, [quietly] watching u __________.There is that show I like on Thursday with it's season finale and I hear things with season 6 might be delayed but I'm honestly like, whatever I survived the wait for GLEE, I can survive a longer SPN hiatus if it comes to that. Maybe it will actually give me enough time to FINISH A DAMN FIC.Bringing me to writing: I get started and I get really, really close to finishing, but then I wander away when something shiny catches my eye and I keep procrastinating to the point where if I don't finish this one story, it's gonna get Kripke'd to hell in 3 days and I'm not going to WANT to. So here's what I do: I read something on the flist I don't agree with. I say 'huh' and move on. I see something I agree with, and maybe I comment with an affirmation of it, and I move on. Maybe I see that thing come up again. Maybe it's one of those times the thing I do or do not agree with, becomes wank. Then I go into TextEdit. I type up a long, run-on-sentence-filled rant on the subject. I tl;dr and ultimately make it about expunging my own negative feelings about Life, the Universe, and Everything and reaffirming my own personal philosophies and arriving at a pragmatic conclusion. I close the file, I go to sleep. I read it in the morning, I add in things I forgot. Then I pull out this quote from Voltaire to summarize my main argument:I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it. Then, in re-reading the wiki entry, I remember that it's not Voltaire, but Evelyn Beatrice Hall who said that. And have been in that good mood ever since, which is odd considering I spent most of my subway ride composing this really tl;dr post in my head about how I used to be, and how depressed I was at different points in my life, how I used to have a fondness for different vices which lead me to where I am, and how I slowly pulled myself out of said depression. How I still have to give myself pep-talks every now and then. How I'm really WEIRDED OUT that people consider me a generally happy person. And especially how WEIRD it is that I kinda AM? So yeah, I realize I don't really discuss that part of my past here. I rarely mention it to people that haven't known me for more than 3 years.
