All motorways leading North and South pass through the Midlands and 98% of the UK population is within a four-hour drive. Althorpe House, historic seat of the Spencer family and the final resting place of the late Diana, Princess of Wales opens in Northamptonshire each year. Among the many world class sporting events held in The British Midlands are the Ryder Cup at The Belfry, The Davis Cup at the 13,000 seat National Indoor Arena, test match cricket at Edgbaston and Trent Bridge, and premiership soccer across the region. Birmingham is home to the Royal Ballet, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the world's finest collections of Pre-Raphaelite paintings. Nottingham has more sports facilities per head than anywhere else in Europe. Nottingham is the fabled home of Robin Hood, with theatrical jousting performances in the grounds of Nottingham Castle every October and the UK's largest and oldest travelling fair, the Nottingham Goose Fair.
