101 in 1001: January 1, 2010 to September 28, 2012
The concept of Mission 101 comes from the Michael Greene, who created Day Zero Project, where the challenge is to, "Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days."
WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT?
The point is to take 101 specific, predetermined goals and accomplish each of them over a 1,001 day period. Your goals can be as personal or generic as you'd like them to be; after all, they're your goals that you will be accomplishing, no one else.
WHY 1,001 DAYS?
1,001 days is roughly 2.75 years, which is better than a single year in terms of being able to accomplish a broader range of goals, giving you the challenge of assigning yourself both short- and long-term goals.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Anyone with a list of goals and some determination! This community was created for those who started their 101 on January 1, 2010, who would like to do so in a community setting with some support and encouragement. Membership is now closed, but those looking to start their 101 now can join mission101 for support and encouragement.
COMMUNITY GUIDELINES:
- Use lj-cuts when appropriate (for super long lists or large pictures, etc). Instructions on how to do that can be found here.
- Tag entries as needed; it makes your posts easier to find in the future if you want to track your progress. A list of tags can be found here.
- Update on your progress periodically! It's fun to see what everyone is accomplishing, and an excellent way to track your own progress as time passes.
COMMUNITY CONDUCT:
The basic let's-all-play-nicely-together rules are pretty simple: Be respectful of other people in your comments and posts. Constructive criticism is acceptable (if the person wants it, and keep in mind - they might not!), but being mean on purpose is not. LiveJournal is a pretty eclectic place, and one person's goal might not be right for you, but that doesn't mean it isn't perfect for them. Respect that. This is a place for encouragement and support.
