The United States of America has for a long time been the intervening force in the world. Their m... more The United States of America has for a long time been the intervening force in the world. Their military actions during both the world wars were seen as a turning point in the history of the wars and to the ultimate victory in the war against the Axis powers. Cold War sparked a new interest in the United States' foreign policy when it became evident that proxy-wars could escalate into a direct major war. Cold War also became the major reason for the United States to fund mercenaries and rebel groups in volatile countries with power vacuums to keep the situation as covert as possible. This militaristic attitude led to formation and financing of various international terrorist organizations, which two decades later would lead the United States into a actual war on terror, and at the same time give them a moral license to act as a global moral force that it is today. This paper will look into how the United States got itself into being a moral force in the world through its revised and harsher foreign policy. This paper will also critique this foreign policy by forming a case using many of the critical approaches and by giving an insight into cases which would show the two-faced effects of the revised foreign policy. The United States has been a major global player since the beginning of 20 th century. It had seen major economic boom in its industries and in immigration over the period of over 15 decades, and has established an identity of its own. With the rise in population and expansion of its territory in North America, the country strengthened its security and military in order to protect its assets and people, and the existence of a major conservative ideology helped the armed forces to grow faster.
