In addition, while both aren't like full 20+ minute anime, Galaxy Angel has more time to fully expand on their shared humor style without it becoming boring! :) Anime: Potemayo Both are about cute little moe blobs with animal characteristics and have the same kind of slightly twisted humor. Potemayo features the chibis Potemayo and Guchukou. Dejiko is a little like Guchukou when it comes to random eye beams. Puchiko is more like Potemayo in certain ways. Both shows feature cute main characters and the individual episodes don't really have a plot, but are just fun to watch. And Potemayo has 20 min long episodes, wich is a pro in my opinion. Anime: Jewelpet Happiness The director is the same and it shows. Both of them use the same sort of faces and have the same sort of out there approach to humor. Di Gi Charat is more unrefined and made for an okatu audience while Jewelpet Happiness channels this approach into the kids show that it is. Both shows also put cuteness as a core component of the series, especially in regards to the main character designs. Anime: NHK ni Youkoso! i'm nearly certain that dejiko from di gi charat was the inspiration for pururin, at least with regard to character design. both characters are self-conscious parodies of the hyper-otaku denpa characters popular in the late 90's and early 00's, each one a rearrangement of the kinds of database elements discribed by hiroki azuma in his influenctial book Otaku: Japan's database animals. i believe there was some relevant historical precedence to pururin's name as well, but it involves things that could potentially ruin pururin for those that don't know, so i'll leave it up to you to decide whether or not to research the origins of her name read more Anime: Teekyuu Both anime have short episodes, surreal humor, and cute girls. Although Di Gi Charat is a bit older and parodies otaku culture more than Teekyuu, these two animes are pretty similar and do what they set out to do very well. Anime: Majokko Tsukune-chan Both comedies directed by Sakurai Hiroaki, Mojokko Tsuke-chan is reminiscent of Di Gi Charat, displaying similar bizarre happenings and absurdist humor. Fast-paced gags and crude animation abound in both of them. Anime: Nerima Daikon Brothers Comedic style w/ simple artwork. Alot of comic/manga style screen segments.... Both have alot of music and sing alongs... they both even have a little sidekick mascot (gema/panda). And their "ultimate goals" are vaguely similar in which they both want to make alot of ppl happy. Anime: Nyoro-n Churuya-san DiGi Charat and Nyoron Churuya-san feature a similar certain type of humor combining SD moe-ness with random and silly situations. The protagonists Dejiko and Churuya are both green haired chibi girls trying to cope with the often harsh environment they live in. While it is Churuya's only wish to obtain more of her beloved smoked cheese, Dejiko works hard in a computer store in Akihabara to become a famous actress. Both girls talk in a specific manner relating to cat-like sounds, as Dejiko ends every sentence with the syllable "-nyo" and Churuya expresses various emotions by simply saying "nyoron". Anime: Asari-chan Both of them are comedies. The difference is that Asari-chan is not a princess, while Dejiko, the main character of Di Gi Charat is a princess of a nearby planet called Di Gi Charat. Asari-chan is also a chibi animation, and so as Di Gi Charat.
