Both deal with assassins doing their jobs. Large amount of sex and violence. Surprisingly good ova's even if they took out the sex. Created by the same artist, they both have action and drama with female main characters. The plots are deep even with all the gun play. Mezzo Forte is a far superior, far less depressing, and much more entertaining version of the same story. That is the the better way to go as long as you skip the uncut version. Adult 18+ anime (hentai) with strong female protagonist. Both shows have similar theme of the eerie aesthetics of blood-sputtering violence. Oh and back in the days these shows do have a coherent plot. Both shows have similar lead protagonists (a cute assassin girl who knows how to kick lots of ass). They also both have very tactile action scenes with heavy hitting, gruesome depictions of gore. The overall feel of each show is also very similar, probably in part because the lead artist and director is the same for both shows. Both are Hentai films made by the same studio. Each deal with a heavy emphasis on plot, in comparison to sex scenes. Both protagonists are involved in shady dealings. Both OVA's take place in the same universe. There are many similarities, especially in art and animation, which are both done by studio Arms. If you liked Mezzo Forte, you will definitely enjoy A Kite. Anime: Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom Both about assassins with a strong girl lead role and a boy assassin. lots of action [there's explicit sex scenes as well however] both slaves at their job and doing what they're told by upper bosses. Phantom Requiem and A Kite are both focused on male & female protagonists that forgot their past and only focus on their assassin job. Plot are pretty similar and both feature pretty impacting scenes. While Phantom focuses more on character development and soundtrack, A Kite is 1 hour of full action and incredible sakuga (it is labeled hentai but there are ~2 min of sex in the OVA). both are simmilar in the part where an orphan girl is recruited to kill people and becomes a skilled assasin, difference is phantom requiem is longer, with a lot more of character development while a kite more crude, blody and sexual Similar: Both involves a young female assassin that have a lost and forgotten past that they try to uncover as they fight for survival and the will to live, both also involve a love tie with a young male assassin that helps them regain their humanity, both can be dark and sometimes very cruel by treating the main female as an object rather than a person. Differences: Kite is far more violent with it's gore and blood where Phantom has hardly any blood plus Kite has it's explicit scenes (if you watched the uncensored version) , Phantom explores more on the importance of love and memories rather than just revenge alone. Overall: While I do personally enjoy Kite, Phantom is far superior in terms of it's story and characters, which I believe are the 2 most important things to have in any show or movie. read more Anime: Kage (OVA) Both are hentai/action OVAs with female assassins as main characters. Both are pretty violent and have decent stories. Anime that might be classified hentai. but they have an actual storyline, not just one to serve as an excuse for the plot. And considering both have assasing protagonists, there is also a focus on action scenes. They both have a plot driven story as the main focus and the hentai aspect as secondary Anime: Gunslinger Girl In both shows, the young killers themselves are the most tragic victims. Girl(s) trained by their masters to kill Both anime are starring tragic young girls abused as assasins, in the tradition of Luc Bresson's Nikita or Léon. In both anime, underage children are objectified, treated cruelly, and some are killed. A Kite goes much further regarding the degree of child abuse, depending on the cut version to explicit, hentai grade sexualized violence. The violence in Gunslinger Girl is more subtle and psychological, but it's eventual mind break effect is similar. In both, a lot of focus is placed on the psychology of the assasin girls, and their attempt to cope with the situation. Also, both have a hard to describe atmosphere of inevitablity, professionalism, and nagging doubt. read more Anime: Cool Devices If you liked the episode "Yellow Star", which was worked on my Yasuomi Umetsu, then you'll also like this as it was directed by him, contains the same character designs and is longer and more enjoyable. In a way Kite seems like a expanded retelling of the "Yellow Star" episode. For fans of Kite and Mezzo Forte, Cool Devices vol.07 "Yellow Star" is really worth checking out. Yasoumi Umetsu handled the character designs whom did the same for both Kite and Mezzo Forte. The storylines are similar and many state the fact that Yellow Star can be seen a s precursor to Kite. Cool Devices is episodic based and a little aged, but Vol.07 is worth checking out if you're a Kite/Mezzo Forte fan. Anime: Perfect Blue The feeling I had watching Perfect Blue was so similar to A Kite that I was surprised nobody made this recommendation yet. Even tho A Kite is listed as a hentai because of its explicit sexual content, it is actually a psychological horror story with an atmosphere very similar to perfect blue. It is also about a girl forced to do something she doesn't really like, which then has to face dangerous situations involving people close to her. Both are stacked with murder. A kite has more gore and more sexual content, while Perfect Blue staggers with the psychological trauma of the lead character. Sure, it may be an odd recommendation, but Perfect Blue and Kite have a connection in characters being entangled in unholy situations, to the point where such come against their wills despite the efforts they can give forward. Perfect Blue does this with a stalker and hallucinations, a case of a mental attack. Kite does this with sexual moments and other disturbing elements, a case of physical attack. Both are pretty good in their respective genres, and something that deserves at the very least a try, more so for Kite than PB. Anime: Parasite Dolls Anime of a begone era, the style still ends up resonating despite the amount of time having passed. Dystopian is dystopian, with no punches held back regarding what one is willing to do to the characters, yet also shredding everyone psychologically to pieces, rendering everyone including the viewer raw. Neither series is for the faint of heart. Both have very similar character designs and art styles. The action scenes also feel very similar. However, the stories and the settings in each show is different. Kite is a modern day tale about professional killers, while Parasite Dolls is a near-future cyberpunk story about androids. Anime: Elfen Lied Yeah... in terms of the Bloody Scenes if you enjoy kite you will adore elfen lied... Decimate. Kite and Elfen Lied both follow girls who have the ability to absolutely destroy their enemies. Kite's Sawa being an assassain. Elfen Lied's Lucy being a diclonius. In a way too, both of these girls are not free since one is being controlled, the other is a threat to humanity. Both of these MCs also try to create some happiness in their life with who they are paired with. Both are gorey and sexual anime made by the same studio, Arms. Be wary of Kite's hentai senses. Anime: Gantz Exploitative series with violence, bloodshed and sex. Only major differences is that A Kite doesn't deal with aliens, is more shorter and has the hentai tag. Anime: Chika Gentou Gekiga: Shoujo Tsubaki This recommendation is in Spanish too. -The main character lose their parents and are taken to work. -The girls fall in love and their relationships have a very similar end. -Both have gore and sex scenes. -Las personajes principales pierden a sus padres y son llevadas a trabajar. -Las chicas se enamoran y sus relaciones tienen un final similar. -Ambas tienen escenas gores y sexuales. Anime: Bible Black Mature anime titles that are filled with intense violence, sexual content, and psychological themes. Both of these are great shows to watch if you're in the mood for something dark, depressing. Anime: Cowboy Bebop Hunters. Cowboy Bebop and Kite both follow this futuristic technology with hunters of some sort assigned with capturing or killing targets. Bebop follows bounty hunters Spike and Jet and their missions on who to get next. Kite is the same but it follows a girl named Sawa who is an assassin instead. Both are good action anime with the same kind of jazz music in them too. Kite having H scenes though. Anime: Devilman: Crybaby Both are anime series with a profound sense of negative emotional intensity, where you know that things can keep getting worse. The level of violence, both symbolically and visually, is something to be highly mindful of. The conclusions of both anime will undoubtedly leave an emotional void in your heart. Anime: Toshi Densetsu Series If you want an anime that has plot enjoyment and not just sex, then A Kite is for you. The Toshi Densetsu series although has more episodes than A Kite, it is enjoyable to watch. The music is good and the characters are loveable. And both series use sex as a way to move the plot forward instead of just being there because it's a hentai. Anime: Gunnm Watching Kite made me suddenly think of Battle Angel Alita. They both are oldschool with good grapics, has an assassin girl as a main character and rich for action and violence. Except Battle Angel Alita has much less erotic scenes Anime: AD Police Both of these Anime are from the 90's and has the nice gritty feel that doesn't occur in the newer Anime. Both series are violent and extreme when it comes to the plot line, not to mention quite tragic in the way they end. Both series include flashbacks to help build up the characters backgrounds and there is a high level of angst to the plots, not to mention the advanced weapons that the main characters fight with, as well as the over all damage each take. Anime: Luv Wave Sexy girl with handsome partner fights against the humanity trash. Really dark story, uncensored fun time and violation. English dub exist for both, but of course is terrible. A Kite has better storyline, but Luv Wave has robot girl :) Anime: Kurau Phantom Memory Kite features strong, explicit sexual content but if it was removed, both these series share many similarities. From the jaded girl trying to find a purpose as she carries out her orders as a hitman to her fondness and wish to protect a boy caught in her mishap ridden life, action and a Bourne Identity style moments color their anime canvases. Anime: Noir - Both Anime tell story about the life of assassin - Both MC have a partner (Mireille & Kirika/ Sawa & Ubori) - Both anime also contain sexual suggestion (NOIR=yuri element / KITE=hentai scene) - Also IMO, NOIR have better ending rather than KITE
