The non-aqueous polymeric suspension was put dropwise into aqueous medium containing polyvinyl alcohol as surfactant for synthesis of microsphere by solvent evaporation. The microspheres were characterized by different techniques namely XRD, SEM, and NMR. The formation of microspheres was confirmed by SEM. XRD analysis revealed the semi-crystallinity nature of microspheres. NMR study indicated the presence of hetero-aromatic nucleus in the microsphere.

Research paper thumbnail of Modification of Fibroins: Approaches to Get Optimise Scaffolds for Musculoskeletal Tissue Engineering.

The components of musculoskeletal system that consists of bone, ligament tendons and muscles are ... more The components of musculoskeletal system that consists of bone, ligament tendons and muscles are most vulnerable to injury from sports and related activities. Replacing the injured tissues more specifically the bone is a challenge to tissue engineers. Aiming at regeneration of bone tissues, silk fibroin from Bombyx mori, a novel biocompatible natural polymer has been explored either alone or as organic/inorganic composites for optimal growth of bone cells or differentiation of stem cells to bone cells in vitro. In the process, raw silk fibroins need to be were degummed, usually by alkali treatment method, to ameliorate the cytotoxicity from sericin. Most recently, the nanofibers of silk from electrospinning has shown a promise for bone tissue engineering. To get nanofibers, the degummed silk is usually dissolved in compatible solutions i.e. CaCl2 in H2O or LiBr in C2H5OH at different concentrations followed by dialysis to remove toxic ions. The ion free silk solution can be Electrospun alone or can be blended with various biopolymers for the fabrication of nanofibre biodegradable composite. Other approaches like crosslinking an array of biopolymers with silk or freeze drying the silk fibroins are also in pipeline to develop a novel silk based scaffold for bone tissue engineering.

Research paper thumbnail of Phase analysis of NI-MN-SN ferromagnetic shape Memory alloys

Ferromagnetic shape memory alloys (FSMAs) are the novel materials exhibiting shape memory effect ... more Ferromagnetic shape memory alloys (FSMAs) are the novel materials exhibiting shape memory effect (SME) and magnetism simultaneously. They show magnetic field-induced strains at room temperature greater than any electrostrictive, magnetostrictive or piezoelectric material, and faster frequency response than temperature driven shape memory alloys. Among various FSMA materials, Ni-Mn-X (X =Ga, In, Sn, Sb) have gained considerable interest due to their multifunctional properties such as shape memory effect, magnetocaloric effect, magnetoresistance, etc., associated with first order martensite to austenite structural transition. FSMA spread its application in broad area from aerospace industry to medical application, but not vividly use; because of its high cost. Ni-Mn-Sn FSMAs shows low cost of manufacturing due to its low value of constituting elements. This paper investigates the behavior of Ni-Mn-Sn Heusler FSMA by varying the weight percentage of Sn. Three alloys i.e. Mn 50 Ni 50-x Sn x (x = 5, 7.5, and 10) were produced as bulk polycrystalline ingots by arc melting. In order to identify structural phases X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements were conducted at room temperature using Cu K α radiation. By Differential Scanning Calorimetric (DSC) study it is found that, the transformation temperatures gradually decreases as increasing the Sn content, which shows it can apply in higher working temperature range than that of Ga-FSMAs. ____________________________________________________________________________________

The alternative way to formulate conventional tablets design was to dissolve in the part of tongue. Dysphasia, motion sickness, repeated emesis and mental disorders like patients were not able to take medication easily through swallowing. In the recent decade much research were going on to investigate about mouth dissolving preparation which leads significance roles for patient dose satisfaction. MDT simply vanishes when placed in the mouth, so cannot be hidden in mouth by psychotic patients.

Oral route of drug administration is oldest and safest mode of drug administration which does not possess the sterility problem with minimal risk of damage at the site of administration. Close cooperation between laboratory and law enforcement personnel is essential to maximize the operational value of drug characterization studies. For stable & satisfactory extend release profile of drug from fabricated polymeric matrix preparation in the form of tablets were identified with different proportion. Chemical links between Drug (Trimetazidine.HCl) and Polymer (Metalose) were established, which was studied by FTIR, UV and with other technique. There were some comparative study between drug and polymer which, analytically determines the approach of stability. For stability measurement relative humidity was under taken; 30°C/65 % RH & 40°C/75 % RH for 30 days. Formulations of drug content, hardness, friability were measured. From drug formulation, measurement after 30 days (drug-polymer contact time), the drug content found to be ~95.92 which is nearly equivalent to original drug content. This experiment found that by using Metalose polymer causes no change in drug property and can satisfactorily use.

The present study is to investigate the possibility of developing fingerprinting characteristic of Nifedipine Microsphere by using combined polymer (Ethylcellulose, Polyvinylalcohol) in different proportions required in the formulation of Microsphere for Sustained Release Medication. Solvent evaporation method was used for preparation of Microsphere containing Nifedipine, taking Ethyl cellulose as polymer. Identification of functional group frequencies with the help of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy has been made. Microspheres are prepared by taking drug to polymer weight ratio of 10:90. From FTIR (400 cm-1 to 4000 cm-1 region) spectroscopic studies were carried out and spectra were used for identification for in-vitro interaction study. It has been found that in Nifedipine Microsphere containing the Dihydropyridine nucleus of the Drug remains unchanged after the formulation which was improved the basic therapeutic activity with sustained release preparation.

To develop a prolong release activity drug delivery system for the medication purpose to enhance drug activity and reduce the frequency of dose via this hydrogel. A novel HPMC-g-acrylic acid hydrogel was prepared by in-situ emulsifier free emulsion polymerization using benzyl peroxide as an initiator through 1-stage grafting. Acrylic Acid could intercalate into layers of HPMC and form graft composites through in situ graftpolymerization with acrylic acid and characterized by XRD, FTIR, Thermal spectra and SEM analysis. Swelling property and biodegradability study of the hydrogel graft polymer were investigated. A study of drug loading and drug release with taking the drug Ciprofloxacin is undertaken with this graft polymer using the dissolution apparatus and UV-visible spectrophotometer.
