organtransplant - Profile (original) (raw)

on 16 November 2005 (#8816941)

This community is for the discussion of organ transplants and related issues by patients (pre-and post-surgery), their family and friends, and anyone else who's interested.

please no spam, no advertisements for products you are selling. please show respect for other members!

IMPORTANT: remember, we are not doctors (or at least most of us aren't) and thus should not provide anyone with medical advice. it is fine to explain how your own medical issues have been dealt with, of course.

if you have a medication question, weird vital sign, or any other such issue, CALL YOUR TRANSPLANT TEAM BEFORE ASKING YOUR QUESTION HERE.

(i.e. it's much better to anooy the transplant nurse on call than to reject an organ!)

please remember that a poster or commenter may be working with a transplant team whose protocol differs from that of YOUR transplant team.

also, it seems important to keep in mind that a poster/commenter may live in a different state, province, or country from your own -- very possibly with different kinds of medical facilities, different ways of listing transplant candidates, with/without universal health care, etc.
