[When evening falls tonight, you hear music from within one of the ballrooms. There's something curious about it and you can't help but wander toward the doors of the room to investigate.

Upon looking in, you see a lively (so to speak) masquerade in process. Every ghost wears a mask and fine costume. You are immediately confronted by a ghost who hands you a costume and mask, presumably for you to wear. You can't get in without it, and you certainly can't help but want to join in the festivities...]

Event Start!

[The Ghost King "walks" through the gardens alone, frowning a bit to himself. His guests had seemed so angry during Garabage Day a month ago. They hadn't seemed to enjoy the recent Halloween festivities very much, either.

Maybe he was being a bad host? That certainly wouldn't do for a king! He needed to do something for them quickly. What was that, though?

As he passes the well, he lets out an airy sigh and speaks quietly in his ghostly voice...]

I wish my guests felt as though they fit in here...

[ooc: Pretend this was earlier? Regardless, your characters will now suddenly find that they are very much ghosts. Enjoy? XD]

Halloween Ball Log Post

[As the sun sets on Halloween, a faint noise begins to come from one of the large ballrooms. With the festive changes that have already taken place, it's not surprising to find this room has been decorated as well.

However, there's more. Many of the ghost occupy the room. Some of them seem to be running a rather large refreshment table, others are dancing in couples on the floor. The music seems to come from nowhere and comes from a variety of eras, even songs one would not expect to here in a castle.

Everyone is welcome, but you may be expected to socialize and/or dance. After all, it is a ball.]

[ooc: Here's the log post for the ball! It's open, so you can come in with your characters at any time and have fun. Or torment them. It's all the same, really.]

...Yep. LOL Uhhh, characters can totally confront the ghost king personally, or just have your characters vaguely react in a comment. He...doesn't realize the characters actually heard his original declaration.

[The castle remains quiet in the night, save for any noises made by its occupants. The residents have long turned in for the night. It seems to be the bridge between two regular days for this strange palace.

A light begins to form on the horizon. Sunrise is quickly coming, and it looks like it will dawn into a beautiful late summer day. The quiet is only interrupted by the early singing of birds and the first shufflings of the spirits.

Just then, the peace of the castle is interrupted. A voice fills every corner of the buildings and the grounds, and despite the fact that it sounds like an eerie wind it's still commanding in tone.]

In 72 hours all that should not be here shall be put in its rightful place.

[As quickly as it came, the voice fades...]

[ooc: Event START! Foreward date this to early morning on Saturday, obviously XD; Your characters can put their initial reactions/threads resulting from initial reactions here and make posts for anything else! Like angst. Oh, and the Ghost King isn't available for accosting just yet ^_^
