Welcome to Montreal / Bienvenue à Montréal

Recognized as one of North America's most cosmopolitan cities, Montreal has become a preferred destination of choice for the global gay and lesbian community. Located in the Province of Quebec, where same sex partners are legally afforded the same status as heterosexual partners, the city is home to a thriving gay and lesbian community that is estimated to represent 15% of the city's population of more than 3 million.

Montreal is also home to the 'Village', one of the largest gay and lesbian neighbourhoods in the world. While the city is known for its joie-de-vivre, including electric dance clubs, fanciful restaurants and charming bistros, the Village is no exception, with its sub-culture of gay and lesbian residents that bring the streets to life.
