Epic fail

WOOOOOAH

I really should use this thing more.

Anyway, I'm going to a con in about a month and my group is doing a PpG cosplay (SQUEE!). Since I am naturally the biggest nerd of all time ever, I want in on this action, but the thing is: do I wanna do cute aged-up Robin with my short hair (since yeah I got a pixie and I am in love with it), or Ms. Keane?

Naturally I reach out to my fellow PpG nerds on this occasion. Help a girl out?

EVIL

dear glob what is that thing

Alright...let me level with y'all here. I have no idea what crack has just sprung forth from my brain. I regret...everything.

Part of a trade with essbeejay based on the writing exercises we both did, in which I picked one from her list for her to do and she picked one from my list for me to do. The deal was to have 'em up by the end of December...and technically it's still the end of December! So HA!

Over 1000 words of crack, based on listening to Run Daddy Run by Miranda Lambert ft. Pistol Annies on repeat for about an hour and letting my sleep-deprived brain wander off and get lost. I am very sorry.

(Warnings: not actually involving the song at all as it turns out, a grown man dressed as a French maid, ogling, licking, death threats, and merciless removing of dust from shelves via a feather duster.)

( daddy can you hear the devil drawing near?Collapse )

Let Me Be the One

(so some of y'all might remember I did a writing exercise a while back with songs and junk. Well, I'm working on one of those pieces, but I'm having some trouble with it, so I decided to get this thing out of my system. It's a bonus take for "Let Me Be the One" by Def Leppard that never made it into the post, because it hit me just today in the grocery store like a sack of bricks to the face.

Anyway. Professor/Sedusa, incredibly sappy and gross and all that. Read for teh fluff if you want.)

I'm a dirty thief: Writing Exercise

Today's theme brought to you by essbeejay, from whom I have stolen a rather nifty writing exercise that was more fun than I expected. The challenge: put your music collection on shuffle (mine comes from my PPG-themed playlist, Candy Coated Lasers [yes it has a name sshhhh]), and in the time it takes for the song to play come up with a fic concept: title (using the song title is enough), principle characters, subject matter, and summary. The last few summaries come from the songs themselves, because they were just perfect. I'd love to do more of these, but if I do I'd have to share, and IDK how to do that without it getting really old, SO. Here goes. (Oh, oh, oh--most of these don't have a bonus!take, since I could do about two or three bonus!takes per song, but one definitely has a strong one that needed to be included. Anyway. Enjoy!)

The Way I Loved You (Taylor Swift)

Reds/Blossom

Subject Matter: Reflection on her current relationship versus her past one. Post-Reds breakup, Blossom wondering if it was all worth it or not.

Summary: Blossom adores her boyfriend, really. Or, rather, she wishes she did.

Gravity (Def Leppard)

Buttercup

Subject Matter: Between homework, puberty, and mounting responsibility, Buttercup struggles to juggle her changing life.

Summary: She's one screw-up away from getting benched. These days, up is down and who knows what down is anymore?

Swing, Swing (The All-American Rejects)

Professor Utonium

Subject Matter: post-Sedusa breakup thing. A soggy Professor thinks about his latest "failure" over a bottle of wine and a silent house.

Summary: The Professor is old hat at picking himself up and moving on. It just…seems a little harder this time.

Collide (Howie Day)

Brick/Bubbles

Subject Matter: Quiet study of Bubbles on a rainy Sunday morning, tangled in the sheets.

Summary: She’s everything he’s not, and he thinks that might be what he loves most about her.

Roads Untraveled (Linkin Park)

Greens/Butch

Subject Matter: Buttercup finds Butch in a bar post-breakup with Ace and they share a gloomy drink.

Summary: He’s not surprised that it all crashed around her—he’s an expert at bad relationships—but he pulls out the stool beside him for her anyway.

Let Me Be the One (Def Leppard)

Hibbles

Subject Matter: Some rather lemony, desperate Him/Bubbles goodness.

Summary: He’s used to waiting to get what he wants. With the world going to Hell (and Him not being the one in charge, tsk tsk), he’s done with being patient.

Under Pressure (Queen ft. David Bowie)

Mojo Jojo

Subject Matter: Mojo’s got a new scheme going—and this one depends on his ability to deliberately play the good guy, for once. Also, karaoke while trying to bring Townsville under his mind control.

Summary: The mike in his palm feels like it belongs there as he switches on his latest invention. If Freddie Mercury and David Bowie could bend millions of people to their whims with their music, then he, Mojo Jojo, would do the same.

Runaway (Bon Jovi)

Princess

Subject Matter: She’s done with neglect. If he’s not going to pay attention, she’s going to make him.

Bonus!Material: Sedusa, how she got her start.

Summary: Daddy’s girl learned fast all the things he couldn’t say.

A White Demon Love Song (The Killers)

Molly and Cat

Subject Matter: Cat disappears for a while, but Molly still answers when that evil furball comes a-callin’.

Summary: She hears it coming after all of this time.

Run Daddy Run (Miranda Lambert ft. Pistol Annies)

Professor and Him

Subject Matter: Him kidnaps the Professor and the Girls have a harder time saving him than they did last time. Turns swiftly into crack near the end, I think, given Him’s Master Troll status.

Summary: Daddy, can you hear the Devil drawing near?
