Resource Description andAccess (RDA) is the new guidelines for cataloguing released to replace the Anglo-American CataloguingRules. Library of Congress is responsible for the implementation of RDA in mid-2011. This paper studybriefly at the origins of RDA provides an overview of RDA and reviews some of the major differences orchanges that cataloguers and library users can expect to find between RDA and AACR2.

Bibliometric is the measurement technique of all publication patterns of all written communicatio... more Bibliometric is the measurement technique of all publication patterns of all written communication and their author to understand the pattern of information flow and evaluation of work. The study was mainly based on research activities of the Library and Information Science(LIS) Department of University of Kalyani from 2007 to 2019, need to evaluate and analyze to identify the research productivity and research gap. Bibliometric method has been used to conduct the study, and data have been collected from two sources one from the Indian Thesis Database Shodhganga and the rest from the Central Library of the University of Kalyani, Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and MS Excel are being used as tools to apply the Bibliometric method. Total 30 theses were retrieved from two sources. LIS department of Kalyani University awarded its 1st Ph.D. in the year 2007 and the number would rise according to the year pass. This study comprises almost all the aspects of Bibliometric including qualitative aspect or content Analysis of the theses. Differential research productivity has been observed throughout the analysis.

This study reveals the analysis of the progress of Library and Information Science research activity as reflected in doctoral research output in West Bengal Universities, The main objective of the present study is an attempt to measure the research performance of the doctoral thesis submitted on Library and Information Science in the universities of West Bengal from1979 to 2018. This Doctoral Thesis is being taken to evaluate and analyze to identify the research productivity and research gap of research activity. The Bibliometric method has been used to conduct the study, and data have been collected from two sources i.e., one from the Indian Thesis Database Shodhganga and the rest from the Central Library of the Universities of West Bengal. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and MS Excel has been used as a tool to apply the Bibliometric method. A total of 179 theses were retrieved from aforesaid two sources. Calcutta University awarded its 1 st Ph.D. in the year 1979 and the number of theses has risen according to the year pass. This study comprises only the bibliographical aspects and content analysis of the theses of Bibliometric Analysis.

The studies found that majority of papers are multi-authored 3-5 range. Maximum articles have been published from Universities of Africa and Asia. Mostly the contribution size has been limited to 10 pages. The study shows that the Geography was the major subject contributors in this journal. The authorship collaboration of cited document is mostly single author. The age of the cited document mostly cover 2000 and the average citations per paper are 23.
