"Is the punishment of the wicked eternal?" is a common question. The answers to questions about h... more "Is the punishment of the wicked eternal?" is a common question. The answers to questions about hell's eternality contain weighty implications about the nature of God. Largely leaning on Charles Hodges's Systematic Theology, together with the use of computerbased language tools, this paper demonstrates that the place or condition of eternal punishment is a biblical reality.

What is “the kingdom of God” and “the kingdom of heaven”? Why are these phrases used so often? Ho... more What is “the kingdom of God” and “the kingdom of heaven”? Why are these phrases used so often? How did the disciples understand these phrases? Regarding these and related questions, notes and references are given and a method for study is suggested. Not all implications and conclusions are expressed in this document. The facilitator will have to do his/her own preparation and planning before using this study, in order to determine the extent of the study for their context.

The doctrine of the Trinity in creeds, confessions, and other doctrinal statements is briefly giv... more The doctrine of the Trinity in creeds, confessions, and other doctrinal statements is briefly given, in order to provide a logical framework for the doctrine. Then a series of “proof texts” is given, in order to demonstrate that the doctrine is not a human construct; it is divinely (biblically) revealed truth. Finally, based on the thesis that the Three-Oneness of God is more “caught than taught” by its exhibition and application in Scripture (rather than through explanation and proofs), two examples are given of how God’s Three-Oneness is applied: 1) by Jesus in John’s gospel, and, 2) in Paul’s letter to the Ephesians.
