In the learning process, there are various techniques that lecturers implement in the classroom. ... more In the learning process, there are various techniques that lecturers implement in the classroom. One of the techniques is presentation. It cannot be denied that a presentation has become mostly used project in almost all of the courses in university. Hence, the lecturers need an alternative presentation style to be implemented in the courses in which it can create a fun, active, and engaging classroom. Then, the lecturers introduce a new presentation technique called Pecha Kucha. Pecha Kucha is a presentation format which consist of 20 slides and each of the slides is automatically shown for 20 seconds. The researcher explored and investigated the lecturers' lived experience in the implementation of Pecha Kucha. The aims of this research were to describe the lecturers' lived experience and find out the shared experiences in implementing Pecha Kucha. The research questions of this research were (1) what is the lecturers' lived experience in implementing Pecha Kucha? And (2) what are the lecturers' shared experiences in implementing Pecha Kucha? This research was a qualitative research, especially the researcher used phenomenological study as the research method. It was a phenomenological study because it focused on lecturers' lived experience. The participants of this research were two English lecturers of English Letters Department from Sanata Dharma University. Those participants were chosen purposively. Moreover, the researcher administered in-depth interview as the main instrument for collecting the data. In doing the interview, the researcher conducted one-on-one in-depth interview. The results of the in-depth interview were analysed by qualitative data analysis proposed by Creswell (2007). In order to validate the result of the research, the researcher then used member checking. The findings of this research were, first, both of the lecturers were successful in implementing Pecha Kucha. The researcher presented the lecturers' stories and detailed information regarding to the implementation of Pecha Kucha. The researcher described their lived experience which cover their past and current experiences. Both of the participants have different and unique experiences which differ one another. Second, there were 3 shared experiences. They were selfimprovement, struggle, and effective learning.
