Utilizing a qualitative research design, data was collected through interviews with experts in architecture and engineering to identify feasible ventilation solutions. Findings revealed that inadequate natural airflow, exacerbated by Cebu’s tropical climate and the building's current design, impacts comfort and productivity. Passive strategies such as optimized window placement, shading devices, and vegetation integration were identified as cost-effective and energy-efficient solutions. Active strategies, including upgraded HVAC systems and modular fans, were proposed for enhanced airflow control. Additionally, hybrid ventilation systems, combining passive and active approaches, were recommended to balance energy efficiency and functionality. The study concludes with practical, phased recommendations for CDU, emphasizing cost-effective implementation, sustainable design integration, and minimal disruption to daily operations. This study evaluates the level of awareness and practices regarding dengue prevention among Senior High School (SHS) students, faculty, and staff at the university. Utilizing a mixed-method approach, structured interviews were conducted with 25 respondents, including Grade 11 and Grade 12 students, faculty members, and maintenance staff. The study assessed their knowledge of dengue, observed preventive measures, and identified mosquito-prone areas on campus. Results revealed that while the majority of respondents demonstrated moderate knowledge about dengue, gaps in awareness and prevention practices were evident. Key areas such as the canteen and comfort rooms were identified as mosquito hotspots, highlighting the need for targeted sanitation efforts. Respondents acknowledged ongoing preventive measures, such as regular cleaning and waste management, but emphasized the importance of more consistent, visible, and collaborative efforts. The study recommends mandatory weekly inspections, biweekly sanitation protocols, and educational campaigns to enhance awareness and reduce dengue risks. Using a qualitative approach, data were gathered through in-depth interviews with selected participants to examine how love languages—words of affirmation, acts of service, receiving gifts, quality time, and physical touch—shape relationship dynamics, emotional connections, and satisfaction. The findings reveal that quality time, words of affirmation, and acts of service are the dominant love languages expressed among students, emphasizing emotional and verbal connections over physical or material gestures. Moreover, participants demonstrated minimal adherence to traditional Filipino courtship practices, instead favoring modern approaches influenced by cultural shifts and technological advancements. While technology facilitates communication and connection, respondents also highlighted its challenges, such as distractions and unrealistic relationship expectations. The study concludes that fostering emotional intelligence and balancing the use of technology with personal interactions are essential in building healthier, more meaningful relationships. Employing a mixed-methods approach, data were gathered from 32 survey respondents and 10 interview participants to understand how this behavior influences interpersonal relationships and academic performance. The findings reveal that crab mentality is deeply rooted in cultural competition and societal pressures, with 92.1% of respondents demonstrating awareness of the concept. The study identifies significant negative impacts, including diminished self-esteem, strained peer relationships, and reduced collaborative efforts. However, a minority of respondents noted that the behavior occasionally fosters motivation for personal improvement. Proposed interventions include promoting collaborative learning environments, encouraging empathy and emotional intelligence, and addressing the competitive structures within academic institutions. By addressing these challenges, the study aims to foster a culture of mutual support and personal growth, ultimately mitigating the destructive effects of crab mentality on Filipino youth.

This study examines the impact of Wi-Fi on senior high school students, focusing on its educational benefits, associated challenges, and overall influence on student engagement and academic performance. Wi-Fi empowers students by granting them access to a wealth of online educational tools and resources. This connectivity enables learners to explore diverse materials beyond traditional textbooks, enriching their understanding of various subjects. Additionally, it facilitates efficient communication between students, teachers, and peers, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Research indicates that Wi-Fi access can positively influence academic performance compared to traditional classroom methods. However, the extent of this impact depends on how effectively students utilize the technology and whether they possess the requisite digital tools and skills. Adolescents require 8–10 hours of sleep for optimal cognitive, emotional, and physical development, but the pervasive use of electronic devices—such as smartphones, tablets, and computers—before bedtime has emerged as a significant barrier to achieving sufficient rest. This behavior is linked to melatonin suppression caused by blue light exposure, as well as the stimulating nature of digital content, which delays sleep onset and reduces overall sleep duration.
Using a qualitative approach, the research gathered data through focus group discussions with seven Grade 11 students, exploring their nighttime routines, challenges in reducing screen time, and coping strategies. Thematic analysis identified four key themes: nighttime screen use as a routine activity, psychological barriers to reducing screen time, the adverse impacts on sleep and well-being, and behavioral strategies for improving sleep hygiene. Results revealed that most students habitually use screens for entertainment or relaxation, leading to delayed sleep onset, fatigue, and reduced academic performance. Challenges such as fear of missing out (FOMO) and digital addiction exacerbate these issues.
This study underscores the need for targeted interventions, including school-based programs, family-centered initiatives, and policy-driven solutions to promote healthier sleep habits among adolescents. This study explores the manifestation and impact of crab mentality on Filipino senior high school... more This study explores the manifestation and impact of crab mentality on Filipino senior high school students at Cebu Doctors’ University, focusing on its psychological, social, and academic dimensions. Employing a mixed-methods approach, data were gathered from 32 survey respondents and 10 interview participants to understand how this behavior influences interpersonal relationships and academic performance. The findings reveal that crab mentality is deeply rooted in cultural competition and societal pressures, with 92.1% of respondents demonstrating awareness of the concept. The study identifies significant negative impacts, including diminished self-esteem, strained peer relationships, and reduced collaborative efforts. However, a minority of respondents noted that the behavior occasionally fosters motivation for personal improvement. Proposed interventions include promoting collaborative learning environments, encouraging empathy and emotional intelligence, and addressing the competitive structures within academic institutions. By addressing these challenges, the study aims to foster a culture of mutual support and personal growth, ultimately mitigating the destructive effects of crab mentality on Filipino youth.

This study examines the impact of Wi-Fi on senior high school students, focusing on its educational benefits, associated challenges, and overall influence on student engagement and academic performance. Wi-Fi empowers students by granting them access to a wealth of online educational tools and resources. This connectivity enables learners to explore diverse materials beyond traditional textbooks, enriching their understanding of various subjects. Additionally, it facilitates efficient communication between students, teachers, and peers, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Research indicates that Wi-Fi access can positively influence academic performance compared to traditional classroom methods. However, the extent of this impact depends on how effectively students utilize the technology and whether they possess the requisite digital tools and skills. While gadgets are integral to students' learning experience, the availability and strength of Wi-Fi across the campus play a crucial role, as these devices largely depend on reliable internet connectivity. Adolescents require 8–10 hours of sleep for optimal cognitive, emotional, and physical development, but the pervasive use of electronic devices—such as smartphones, tablets, and computers—before bedtime has emerged as a significant barrier to achieving sufficient rest. This behavior is linked to melatonin suppression caused by blue light exposure, as well as the stimulating nature of digital content, which delays sleep onset and reduces overall sleep duration.
Using a qualitative approach, the research gathered data through focus group discussions with seven Grade 11 students, exploring their nighttime routines, challenges in reducing screen time, and coping strategies. Thematic analysis identified four key themes: nighttime screen use as a routine activity, psychological barriers to reducing screen time, the adverse impacts on sleep and well-being, and behavioral strategies for improving sleep hygiene. Results revealed that most students habitually use screens for entertainment or relaxation, leading to delayed sleep onset, fatigue, and reduced academic performance. Challenges such as fear of missing out (FOMO) and digital addiction exacerbate these issues.
This study underscores the need for targeted interventions, including school-based programs, family-centered initiatives, and policy-driven solutions to promote healthier sleep habits among adolescents. It recommends practical strategies, such as setting device-free hours, using blue light filters, and introducing pre-sleep relaxation routines. The findings contribute to the growing body of research on adolescent sleep health and provide actionable insights for parents, educators, and healthcare professionals to mitigate the negative consequences of late-night screen use.
