The globalization perspective focuses on the achievement of universally accepted norms, ethics, a... more The globalization perspective focuses on the achievement of universally accepted norms, ethics, and morals that can be replicated from one place to another without causing substantive disruptions. Despite the positive attributes associated with globalization, several negative outcomes can be expressed on the similar setting of its perspectives. As studied in the Arab world, the difficulty in total assimilation forms toward globalization has characterized the differential modes of activities, treatment of the people, and the projection when viewed across the international levels (Dator, Pratt, and Seo 2006:19). In this study, I attempt to explain the impact of globalization with a view toward examining the case study of Saudi Arabia. Like any other country, the Saudis fear some components of globalization. The challenge for the Saudi Arabia is to embrace more global trade, seek Western cooperation, and yet at the same time stick to a renewed vigor in the application of Islamic laws. However, other dimensions have been impacted in a lesser extent by globalization such as treatment of the female gender. It will include the challenges and overall strategies that can be employed in improving the conditions within Saudi Arabia and the region.
