Skeptical Debate is a forum for the rational debate of issues that lie on the fringes of human knowledge.
Possible topics include: parapsychology, precognition, telekinesis, fortune-telling, ghosts, near death experiences, UFOs, alien contact, dowsing, the Loch Ness Monster, holocaust denial, pyramid power, afrocentrism, weeping icons, the Shroud of Turin, creation/evolution, Freudian psychoanalysis, ritual satanic abuse, bigfoot, magick, lie detectors, spoonbending, all the other things in the interests and more.
Debate about religious principles is not a proper subject for this community. Such questions are better directed toward excellent religion-oriented communities such as... um... oops... the excellent communities all vanished or unexcelled. However, debate about concrete or factual claims made in the name of religion is welcome (e.g. creationism or miraculous milk-drinking Hindu icons)
This community is not related to Philosophical Skepticism (i.e. the idea that nothing can be known with certainty) and discussions of the nature of truth, solipsism, epistemology, metaphysics and similar fancy words do not belong here, but rather in one of the many philosophical communities.
All viewpoints are welcome, however please be sincere; do not disingenuously defend flat earthism just to show off your debating skill.
Personal attacks and unfounded ad hominem arguments will not be tolerated.
I, essentialsaltes, am the moderator. Although this forum is open to the public, it is not a public forum. I am a strong supporter of free speech, but I reserve the right to ban anyone I like for whatever reason I like. If you have a complaint about another member, send me an email, do not start a bitchfest in the community.
