sobi_fans was created on June 10, 2005. I wasn't even planning on opening a sobi community but some suggested it to me, and pretty much, once I have a thought in my head, I just roll with it. And in two years, I can't believe how much this community has grown.

Sadly, I knew my time as a moderator would end soon, especially after I closed my sobiwan fansite, Fated to Be, before the site reached its 5th birthday due to lack of sobi fanfiction and fan art, which I relied so heavily on. I really wanted Fated to Be to reach its 5th birthday, but alas, it was not to be, as I was not to be this community’s mod forever.

In reality, after I closed Fated to Be, I wasn't as excited about the sobiwan fandom as I used to be. Not only was my love for sobi slowly disappearing, my obsession with Star Wars was also becoming not so much of a big part of my life anymore. The Star Wars prequels had concluded, and in the end, I always knew one 'ship/fandom would outlast the other. I loved both Obidala and Sabewan since the beginning, but I couldn't help but feel happy that after seeing RotS because I knew that there would be lots of obidala fanfiction bunnies on the horizon.

As time went on, I was beginning to feel that after the past couple of years since The Phantom Menace, that there were no more new stories that could be written about sobi. And to top it off, recently, I had switched fandom’s: from Star Wars to NBC's "Heroes," which I am absolutely obsessed about now. And a new 'shipper pairing (given they're related on the show, DAMN YOU, TIM KRING) but I 'ship Peter and Claire because like Obidala, I saw the chemistry like so many fans. And Milo's really hot too, and all of the other male cast members of that show, too...Sendhil, Zachary, Masi, Adrian…

With all of these changes going on in my life, there was one last change I never wanted to admit. After watching Down with Love, I realized two things. First that the introductory credits of that movie were all in 2D and could have been easily achieved using Adobe After Effects 7, or some similar art program but most importantly, I was NOT love with Ewan McGregor anymore. I still think he’s a great actor but I don’t find him sexy anymore.

There, I said it! I'm not crazy about Ewan McGregor anymore! I never thought there would come a day that I wouldn't be, but alas, it's true. My new love now? Milo Ventimiglia. Or depending on my mood, the other luscious male eye candy from Heroes, but pretty much, I love Milo.

There it is --- all of the reasons why I am stepping down as your

sobi_fans community mod. I am happy to say though that I am leaving this community in good hands. somesadaffair aka Katie, I know will be an awesome moderator. She's been obsessing about sobi for a long time, and with the sobiwan network coming back soon, I know that there will be lots of sobi love to go around.

This is my final farewell. I'll still be around livejournal, just frequenting different communities. Katie, I wish you the best of luck running

sobi_fans, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the sobiwan network open again.

Yours truly,
