environment background ; educational background One of the reasons for the success of the teachin... more environment background ; educational background One of the reasons for the success of the teaching and learning process in the classroom is the teacher's belief system. Belief guides one's thinking, action, and understanding of events. The level of beliefs in the teaching process needs to be probed before teachers critically manifest their teaching practices and facilitate outcome changes. In Indonesia, the independent curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka), which was regulated in 2022, directs the teaching of English since elementary school. The present study aims to assess the teachers' belief system in teaching English to elementary school students as the "Kurikulum Merdeka" implementation spirit. The study involved 32 English teachers. The questionnaire assessed the teachers' beliefs about teaching English to elementary school students in 3 areas: the nature of children's English development, methods and techniques, and self-efficacy. There was also 1 openended question addressed to teachers to investigate their level of beliefs in teaching English among elementary school students. Data analysis is described in the form of descriptive statistics, independent t-test analysis, and content analysis. The results of this study indicate that the international school environment has a better level of belief than the national-plus school. Meanwhile, there was no difference in the level of belief in teaching among teachers with different educational backgrounds when they were in college.

The purpose of this study was to describe the contributing factors that cause students to experience such condition. The participants in this study consisted of 22 students. This study used descriptive quantitative. The instruments used in the study were questionnaires. The questionnaire was the FCLAS (Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale).The data were analyzed using a Likert scale to determine the factors that cause students' anxiety in public speaking. The results show that the factors that cause student anxiety in public speaking are internal factors and external factors. It shows the mean score of the level of students' anxiety , where the percentage of the two factors, namely internal factors, is 51% and external factors are 49% of the highest score of 100% points and the total number of questions was 33 numbers. This study measured the validity and reliability of an adapted basic psychological needs theory used in foreign language learning. In this paper we examine the vocabulary learning strategies employed by Batam students tertiary level and issues surrounding them. Through a survey of vocabulary learning strategies employed by Students, we then build upon that discussion to provide a literature review of the strategies for the teaching of ESL vocabulary and which have been found to produce favourable results in the contexts they were applied. This is a pilot research for a further detail research needed, as to open an idea of the Vocabulary Learning Strategies phenomenon among tertiary students level.

Vocabulary learning strategy is not only independent factor contribute to the vocabulary acquisition, the socio-educational factors that introduced by Gardner 1985 had been fully proved the contribution of the acquisition process to the successfulness. The paper explores the vocabulary acquisition in the view of vocabulary learning strategies and socio-educational factors in various aspects of research and theory. As of now, the relationship between the VLSs and Socio-educational factors is not exposed widely.

Pencapaian prestasi sebuah universitasmeliputi prestasi daridosen maupun pihak pengelola yang terdapat di universitasdan menjadi penting untuk diperhatikan. Kurangnya penelitiantentang kinerjadosen di peringkat Universitas dan penelitian yang ada biasanya dilakukan di sektor industri saja, sehingga kajian ini perlu dilakukan di peringkat universitas.
