University Students’ Perceptions Of Implementation Of English Online Learning System

As increasing of using technology, educational system has shifted from traditional to online. Online learning or e-learning is an alternative to accelerate English learning since it is no limitation to time and place. Universities around the world are investigating e-learning system to support their traditional teaching system. Some previous research showed an effective learning system when meet the students" needs This study was undertaken to find out whether the implementation of English online learning system would give positive impacts for the students in Binus University. The study was done by spreading survey questionnaire with Google Form and through two forms of social media, such as Line and WhatsApp, had yielded responses from 38 students. The respondents supported this idea of implementing online learning for English subject and had their personal reasons. Overall perceptions of the online learning were positive. The majority of students in the online learning indicated that they would prefer if the approach was offered. Therefore, this research found that online learning for English subject was applicable in Binus University.

This research aimed at knowing the students' perception and motivation towards Online Language Learning. Analyzing Students’ Perceptions of English Language Learning Through Online Learning Implementation

E-Learning also known as online learning became fully established during previous school year. This study aims to analyses students' perceptions of the usefulness of the E Belajar platform as a medium in the English online classroom, as well as the presences of English teachers. The method use is qualitative, consisting of a questionnaire and an interview. In a questionnaire, 56 students from one schools were asked to rate 20 statements on a five-point Likert scale. This school was chosen through purposive sampling because it used the E-belajar platform designed by ministry of education. In interview, there are five respondents through purposive sampling method to explore in depth usefulness of E-belajar and teachers presences. LEARNERS’ ATTITUDES TOWARDS ONLINE LANGUAGE LEARNING; AND CORRESPONDING SUCCESS RATES
ABSTRACT Online teaching has long been a key area of interest recently in every field of education as well as English language teaching. Numerous hardware tools, such as, mp3 players, mobile devices, and so on; and software applications, such as, podcasts, wikis, learning management systems, and so on, have been used in distance and online instruction and they have proved to be useful in facilitating learning individually (Finger, Sun, & Jamieson-Proctor, 2010). Learning management systems (LMS) provide a virtual environment and various tools to support learning. The current institution where the researchers work deliver two 2-credit online English courses for a specific group of learners at a state university in south-eastern Turkey by using Modular Object Oriented Distance Learning Environment (MOODLE). Moodle is an open code LMS which provides teachers and course developers with numerous online tools to enhance distance learning/teaching environment. The course has both a synchronous and asynchronous instruction. Synchronous and asynchronous instructions are associated with the delivery of content in campus-based environments; however, their role differs in off the campus environments as they solve the problems of distance learners. Universities, colleges, and other education institutions are integrating online learning into every aspect of higher education. Many teachers and faculty members at higher education institutions who already run face-toface courses have a website to post lecture notes or slide presentations as well as other course material. There is no doubt that these are effective strategies to expand teaching efforts. Still, there are other educators who design and teach totally online classes. The main purpose of this paper is to evaluate learners’ attitudes towards these online language courses, and there are two objectives of this research. The first one is to discover learners’ attitudes towards the online English course; and the second purpose is to evaluate and correlate learners’ attitudes with their success determined with their end-of-the-year grades. For the unique purpose of this study, an Online Language Learning Attitude Test (OLLAT) has been constructed and distributed to about 7000 learners who were invited to complete this task online. 3516 of these learners took the OLLAT voluntarily and 1783 were successfully completed the test and were included in this study. The objectives of this research are to investigate the emotional, cognitive, and behavioral attitudes and problems of the Diploma student of Economic and Bussiness Faculty and Math and Science Faculty in Universitas Bengkulu toward online English learning. This research is quantitative. The sample of this research was 145 students of Diploma students of Economic and Bussiness Faculty and Math and Science Faculty in Universitas Bengkulu. The data were gathered by using a questionnaire and interview and were analyzed by using SPSS 21. The findings showed that Diploma students have a positive attitude toward English in all aspects, Behavior, Cognitive, and Emotional aspect. In the Behavior aspect, the highest score was that indicated they have a positive attitude was Diploma students are always on time when online English learning. This study is aimed at analyzing the attitudes towards distance learning of students who attended ENG 101 and ENG 102 courses in a private university during the fall semester of 2016- 2017 in terms of gender, distance learning, experience in using computer and learning styles. Data collection tools included the Scale of ATDL (Attitude Towards Distance Learning). Findings indicated that ATDL scores were significantly unrelated with gender. However, there is a significant difference between the students who take 101 English courses and those who take 102 English courses. Previous participation to any distance learning course and experience in using computers significantly affect ATDL.
Assessing University-Level Students’ Attitude towards Online Learning

The present study has been carried out to find out the level of university students towards online learning. Online learning is very much popular among students of the present era. Even various government educational policy has focused on online learning and taken different initiatives. Here the researcher employed the descriptive survey method as a research technique. A total of 241 postgraduate students were taken as a sample of the study through purposive sampling. To collect the data the researcher developed a questionnaire consisting of 34 items having both positive and negative items. The findings of the present study revealed that there were no significant differences in attitude towards online learning between male & female, rural & urban, rural male & rural female, urban male & urban female, science & arts students, science male & arts male, science female & arts female students. And there was a significant difference between high-achiever & low-achiever university-level students in attitudes towards online learning
Students' Attitude towards Online Learning at Tertiary Level
This study aimed at examining the attitudes of undergraduate students towards online learning in District Peshawar. The study mainly focused on exploring the relationship between undergraduate students' attitudes towards Technology Acceptance Model, with a special reference to online learning. A self–structured closed questionnaire with 5-point Likert scale was designed for data collection from a sample of 83 undergraduate level students. Ordinal Regression Analysis was used to analyse the data. Findings of the study show no significant relationship between students' interest in computer, usefulness of computer to students and easiness in using online learning at undergraduate level. Slow and meagre internet facilities, with least understanding of students about online learning, often develop negative approach among students regarding online learning. Policy makers should include online learning topics in the curriculum and the government needs to organise workshops and seminars for teachers to equip them with knowledge and application of computer in academic process.

There are huge numbers of English lessons available on-line and are ready to be used by TEFL and ELT teachers for teaching Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, Pronunciation, Grammar, etc. Some on-line English lessons may receive less attention from the students as the web pages are too complicated or the addresses are too difficult to be accessed. E-learning has become a widely accepted method of learning and teaching in educational institutions and organizations all over the world. E-learning is playing its effective role in learning a language by providing activities in each language skill in an innovative and motivating manner. It has been observed that language acquisition through e-learning is better than traditional classroom in the era of technology. The present research focuses on finding out the impact of e-learning in terms of motivating the students to learn English as a foreign language at Taif University English Language Centre (TUELC), Saudi Arabia. A questionnaire was designed to find out access, use, and attitude of undergraduate students toward technology in learning English. The data reflected that majority of the students have access to computer and internet but they are not motivated to use technology in their learning. They are of the view that curriculum and classroom activities should be integrated with technology. However, teachers are reluctant to use technological gadgets. Training the teachers and incorporating the technology with the curriculum may lead towards a better learning environment.
