Objectives of the study were to determine the role of school environment in the academic achievement of sciences students, to find out the impact of school physical facilities on the academic achievements. Null hypotheses were formulated which were tested on the basis of study results. Principal and science teachers of secondary school science students constituted population of the study. A total sample of eighty which includes 40 heads and 46 science teachers constituted sample of the study. Data were collected through two separate questionnaires and was analyzed through chi-Square. Findings of the study were that school environment has a significant role, teachers and students follow school discipline, and teachers are not frequently using teaching aids and science laboratories. Objectives of the study were to impart the knowledge of aesthetics, to create awareness about aesthetics, about Quranic aesthetics and to bring into light Greek, Roman and English’s philosophers’ views about aesthetics and to highlight the positive changes in students’ behavior after studying aesthetics. Population of the study was all students of Abdul Wali Khan University which were delimited to the students of English department. Through sample random sampling eighty four students were selected as sample of the study. Data was collected through a self-developed questionnaire and was analyzed through Mean. Findings showed a constant study of aesthetics bring great transformation in the behavior, manners and etiquettes of university students. It was recommended that the study of aesthetics in the light of Quran brings behavioral maturity and positive changes

This signifies assessment practices and therefore, the study was designed to investigate teachers’ classroom assessment practices and the challenges and opportunities they have at secondary level. The researchers investigated secondary school English teachers of grade 10 th in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Data were collected from two hundred and thirty five English teachers of District Mardan and Swat through a questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by applying Mean, Std Deviation and independent sample t-test. Results of the study illustrated teachers mostly follow; objective type test, home work, oral presentations, question answering during the instruction, ignoring alternate assessment practices-one minute test, presentation, group projects, self, peer and portfolio assessment practices. Results: The students did not develope entrepreneurial skills and majority of the students learned through auditory learning style. Positive relationship between entrepreneurial skills and tactile learning style was found (r = .239, .218, 206, .225 for which the p <.05).
Conclusion: Tactile learning style is prominent among business school students for which the schools did not provide ample opportunities.

This study investigated into the effects of lesson planning on effective teaching. The study is qualitative in nature and was delimited to the eight government middle schools of Tehshil Babuzai District Swat. Eight (8) teachers and Sixteen (16) students were interviewed using semi-structured interviews. The results showed that most of the teachers understand the importance of lesson planning but when it comes to the implementation of the lesson planning the views of the teachers and the students are divided. Majority of the students are of the view that teachers are using only one method of teaching with no activities and with no variety in the teaching techniques. While teachers are of the opinion that overcrowded classrooms and time management are the main issues that stop them from using and implementing proper lesson planning. Further those students whose teachers’ rely on traditional methods with no prior planning their students are introvert, shy and prone to avoid taking part in the activities.

The knowledge and skills of classroom assessment is one of the requirements which have been decla... more The knowledge and skills of classroom assessment is one of the requirements which have been declared in National Professional Standards for Teachers in Pakistan. Without the knowledge and skills of assessment teachers cannot effectively implement their instructional plan. This study investigated teacher educators’ assessment literacy and its relationship with the academic achievement of prospective teachers. The study was quantitative correlational and survey method was adopted for data collection. Teacher educators and prospective teachers of Government Colleges of Elementary Teachers and Regional Institute for Teacher Educators were included in the population. Data were collected through an assessment literacy test from the sample groups of the study which was analyzed through mean scores, Pearson correlation and linear regression. The results illustrated that the assessment literacy of teacher educators was of average level which was significantly co-related to the academic achievement of prospective teachers. To further enhance the assessment literacy in-service trainings/workshops were recommended. Further, an Assessment Wing at federal level for the development of assessment standards at different level was also recommended.

approaches. Every approach has some merits and demerits. The
current study adopted a flip learning approach for the training
of prospective teachers in pedagogical skills. The study was
delimited to four pedagogical skills (instructional planning,
presentation, classroom management and assessment skills).
Null hypotheses were formulated and in pre-experimental
designs one group single case study design was adopted. The
treatment of the group was done through flip learning approach
for teaching of pedagogical skills for prospective teachers.

Objectives of the study were to investigate the relationship between school and social skills development of
students at secondary level, to investigate the effect of school on students’ basic social skills, to analyze the
effects of school on peace promoting skills and to ascertain the effect of school on students’ conflict skills.
None directional hypotheses were formulated to direct the study. All the students of class 10th and SSTs of
secondary schools of district Mardan were the population of the study. Through random sampling techniques
fifty two SSTs and one hundred and fifty six 10th class students constituted the sample of the study. Data were
collected through two questionnaires, one for the teachers and the other for students. Both the research
instruments were pilot tested on a sample of 15 students and 4 SSTs. Data were collected and were analyzed
with the help of SPSS version 16. Mean, STD deviation, Pearson Co-relation and linear regression were applied
to analyze and interpret the data. Findings of the study illustrated that school has significant effect on the
social skills of students; a very insignificant effect was calculated on the problem solving, tolerance and
appreciative skills of students. It was recommended that teachers and other responsible personnel should use all
the means to ensure the development of students’ social skills.

Mardan is a district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan. The study investigated the organizational structure, functions and achievements of PTC at primary level at district Mardan. Government primary schools of district Mardan were the population of the study. Through purposive sampling techniques ten primary schools were selected as sample of the study. A self-developed questionnaire was used to collect the data. The collected data were analyzed through percentage and was tabulated. Findings of the study were lack of ADO (Assistant Director of Education) interest, untrained and uneducated chairman, members and loss contacts of PTC members with educational authorities were responsible for weak performance of PTC.

academic achievement. Objectives of the study were to ascertain the relationship between Single-Subject and multisubject-
teaching approaches and students’ academic achievement. Fifty students of 5th class and 20 Primary School
Teachers were the respondents of the study. Through a self-developed questionnaire data were collected from
teachers while the effects of these teaching approaches on students were assessed through pre- and post-tests.
Teachers’ responses were analyzed through Mean and standard deviation while students’ performances were
analyzed through Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Findings of the study illustrated that single-subjects-teaching have
positive but not significant relationship to the academic achievement of students while multi-subject-teaching
approach have positive and significant relationship to the academic achievement of students. It was recommended
that the present approach of multi-subject-teaching should be remained with some modifications and further
training should be arranged to equip teachers with improved knowledge of teaching.

sampling eighty four students were selected as sample of the study. Data was collected
through a self-developed questionnaire and was analyzed through Mean. Findings
showed a constant study of aesthetics bring great transformation in the behavior,
manners and etiquettes of university students. It was recommended that the study of
aesthetics in the light of Quran brings behavioral maturity and positive changes.

Mardan is a district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan. The study investigated the organizational structure, functions and achievements of PTC at primary level at district Mardan. Government primary schools of district Mardan were the population of the study. Through purposive sampling techniques ten primary schools were selected as sample of the study. A self-developed questionnaire was used to collect the data. The collected data were analyzed through percentage and was tabulated. Findings of the study were lack of ADO (Assistant Director of Education) interest, untrained and uneducated chairman, members and loss contacts of PTC members with educational authorities were responsible for weak performance of PTC.

academic achievement. Objectives of the study were to ascertain the relationship between Single-Subject and multisubject-
teaching approaches and students’ academic achievement. Fifty students of 5th class and 20 Primary School
Teachers were the respondents of the study. Through a self-developed questionnaire data were collected from
teachers while the effects of these teaching approaches on students were assessed through pre- and post-tests.
Teachers’ responses were analyzed through Mean and standard deviation while students’ performances were
analyzed through Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Findings of the study illustrated that single-subjects-teaching have
positive but not significant relationship to the academic achievement of students while multi-subject-teaching
approach have positive and significant relationship to the academic achievement of students. It was recommended
that the present approach of multi-subject-teaching should be remained with some modifications and further
training should be arranged to equip teachers with improved knowledge of teaching.

students. All Government Secondary School of District Mardan constituted population of the study. Through a selfdeveloped
questionnaire, data were collected from three secondary school students and was analyzed on simple
percentage, Co-relation and Linear Regression. The study demonstrated that educational decisions including school
selection and subject selection were strongly affected by members of peer groups, it was therefore recommended
that students’ should care in making decision regarding peer groups and educational decisions.
