This paper, based upon our studies in Iran's Television Manufacturing Industry, presents a model for organizational agility and then suggests a knowledge-based methodology for measuring agility. For being agile, every organization needs a number of capabilities (e.g. responsiveness and flexibility) and competencies (e.g., knowledge management), these capabilities and competencies are broken into some dimensions and finally the resulting dimensions to some indices. For measuring agility we use "IF {Fuzzy antecedents} THEN {Fuzzy consequent}" rules. This system uses expert knowledge and includes implementation of fuzzy logic methods and terminology.

The role of knowledge management as the key source for competitive advantage in our organizations... more The role of knowledge management as the key source for competitive advantage in our organizations has become a hotly debated topic. Indeed, it is a core competency for creating competitive advantage. In this environment that knowledge management is vital, therefore, at first we should determine knowledge management situation, and then to achieve a desired point, formulate a knowledge management strategy. In this paper we are going to explain a model for assessment knowledge management along with a fuzzy logic methodology. Knowledge management is a multidimensional concept and a vague notion. For this reason, fuzzy logic and a knowledge-based methodology for the measurement and assessment of knowledge management in Iranian television manufacturers were used. At first, we explain knowledge management components (Strategic Alignment, People, Process and Technology). In the next step from the knowledge that is presented via IF {Fuzzy antecedents} THEN {Fuzzy consequents} rules, to assess knowledge management in Iranian television manufacturers was used.

KM was measured with four components: infrastructure, process, people, and strategy and then efficiency was measured with data envelopment analysis (DEA). First, factor analysis was used in order to determine KM factors. Then, the partial correlation between KM components and efficiency was computed. Finally, multiple linear regressions were computed with the four independent variables (factors) and efficiency. Results showed positive relationship between the KM level and the efficiency in ceramic tile industry.
