However, this year I have decided to limit myself to two instead of the seven or eight I did last year so that I can dedicate more time to my own original fic. He has been suffering from pulmonary hypertension for a while now, but unfortunately, living in the USA, can't afford health care. Pulmonary hypertension is where pressure from the lungs prevents the heart from operating normally and restricts his oxygen supply. If it goes untreated, then it can kill. Working within a coronary care unit, I've seen this in action and it is extremely unpleasant - and that's for those who are receiving treatment, never mind those who are getting none. dr_is_in has currently had to stop working to care for her husband so they have very little to no money.
