Back in 1995, former Weezer bassist Matt Sharp unveiled his synth pop fetish in the form of the power pop combo The Rentals. After two critically received albums Sharp's electronic incarnation dissipated as he followed his acoustic muse. Now, in the wake of The Rentals 10th anniversary the group is poised to rise again.

The band recently relaunched their official website, therentals.com and are also hunkered down in Los Angeles writing, rehearsing and preparing to record their 3rd studio album, which they hope to release in 2006.
