I am pretty sure the release date is something to do with your bookstore. I picked up my copy from my comic book store this afternoon. I know TFAW had a bit of a delay on their copies but that was more with their shipping times and stuff on their end, not DH. Since it is a limited edition my comic book store had recommended that I pre order early to make sure that they could get the order in for it. (I pre ordered in June) because the longer they have to wait to order it the harder it is for them to get in. It's possible that your bookstore is just having some troubles getting it in. *sigh* That sounds like the logical reason - darn it all I was really looking forward to getting it sooner rather than later. Are you planning to put a public review of your copy? I was considering taking some photos (not scans) of some of the stuff that's in the hardcover and posting it on here. I've had a note sitting on my desk to do the same for the other hardcover since it came out and I constantly forget or get busy with other projects but I may have to make a point to do both this time! (I will be tomorrow at least before I can do that though.)**(Deleted comment)**I pre-ordered from my local comic book store. I would expect that you should get your amazon order soon. I think there's a way to check the status of your order on amazon's site. I think the problem that TFAW ran into is that DH usually ships things out to the retailer (amazon, TFAW) with ample time for the retailer to ship it to the customers so that the customers have it on the street date but there was a slight delay on the shipping from DH to the retailers which made it so that the retailers were unable to ship it out with time for it to arrive to the customers on the street date. So technically the book still came out on time from DH nut due to shipping it is coming a few days later from the retailers. That is what I understand is going on but again, you should be able to check the status of your Amazon order on their site and direct questions to them if you have them. Every time I have pre ordered something from Amazon they sent the confirmation email when they shipped the items so I'd just hit their site to double check that everything is still on the up and up. Weird, Amazon UK has it for release and in stock now. Amazon US has it still on pre order. I don't think Amazon can really give you too much of an idea if they don't know when they're getting the order in as was the case with my James Jean book. It was just a matter of waiting. I cancelled my order on that in the end as i thought they had over sold but didn't want to get bitched at. They got that order in about 3 weeks later, it was issues with where the book was coming from originally. If you can email them, i'd try at least.Im in the UK but want to order it from the US as i'd much rather pay just over £30 rather than the £50 it would be here, being a destitute art kid who needs nice books! |
