A community for discussing Tin Man canon, fanon and fanfiction
This is a community for meta-discussion of all things Tin Man, but especially of fan fiction and fanon. Archetypes, literary and dramatic themes, tropes, world-building, character development, scripting, shipping—they're all fair game. We also welcome discussion about more traditional "meta" topics like fanthropology, fannish customs and conventions and fandom history and group dynamics.
You can ponder, theorize, expound, question and rant. You can wax eloquent or pedantic or prosaic. We want to hear your witty and erudite thoughts!
Community Guidelines
-The usual. Don't be shitty. If you are shitty, chances are someone will come along and tell you so in terms you may not like. The mods will have no sympathy for you.
-No deleting comments. No, not even your own.
-Once a post has been commented on, only mods may delete it.
-No freezing threads or disabling comments. This is diametrically at odds with the raison d'etre of this community.
-No ads without modly sanction.
-Don't get ~¤*¤~creative~¤*¤~ with your formatting. It's annoying as hell.
-We want to read your forty page dissertation, but not on our flists. Put posts longer than a paragraph's worth behind a cut.
-Use tags liberally so that other community members can find and admire your scholarly musings!
A Word About "Bashing"
Censorship is not one of our favourite things. In this community, members have free rein to express strong or unpopular opinions about anything they want, except other people. Other real people who actually exist to be hurt or upset by insults. Have an illustration:
"The Queen is a crummy character."
Fine
"Hank/Airofday is a terrible ship. It would never happen."
Fine
"People who think the Queen is cool are stupid and have bad taste."
"People who write Hank/Airofday should keep their fic to themselves."
Not fine. The mods will be able to tell the difference, even if you use big words. This goes for any other aspect of the fandom experience as well, including bashing "bashers" who don't meet the definition illustrated above.
A Word About the Mods
Watch out for verilyverity. She's the mean one. This clause is here because verilyverity believes in truth in advertising.
A Word About Silly Hats
On Thursdays we wear silly hats.
