Charter date: 2-6-03

The community is about people who are true Empaths. Questions are welcomed, memberships are pending. Selected members will be able to join upon approval. This group may be small, it may be large...but above all else, it will be real.

Anyone who is wishing to apply for membership MUST contact either hopendures, or sammers19; and include their personal definitions on "empathy" or form a trusted correspondence, where we can evaluate the degree of your merit, gifts, character, and potential for growth within the community.

I won't lie. This IS a somewhat selective community, because of the touchiness of the subject-matter, and the sheer amount of people who wish to claim themselves as "unique." So please be open and accepting, of the standards listed here-in.

Guidelines for behavior:

1. All members SHALL adhere to carrying themselves in a favorable and appropriate manner: What this means, is even though some of us may not be on personal or socially civil political terms with eachother, we WILL attempt to seperate our personal views from our political views while operating with members AND non-members, INSIDE of this community.

2. Fight your own battles: Plain and simply put, if you engage someone in a battle of words, you're on your own. Being that we ARE what we are, each and EVERY single one of us should be capable of debating/arguing any given point, in a manner that befits the qualities and reasons we were chosen as members. If you can't fight your own battles and at least come out with SOME shred of dignity, then you should never have gotten involved in the first place. I'm gonna rant on this just a bit further, because I've seen too many times, people getting involved in a fight, bringing in their friends, and watching journals and communities get mauled by re-hashed, senseless BS. I REFUSE to watch people unload a gattling-gun's worth of ammo, into an already dead horse!

3. All members WILL be expected to come to the aid of a distressed member. This should come as no surprize that I state this, as we are givers FIRST, and therefore we are BOUND to eachother in this quality...like it or not.

4. Any member engaging in a live chat with any other member, will NOT use emotion-projection; UNLESS, said target has given permission. The reason for this rule being, we are NOT psy-vamps.

Violations of the Charter: Actionable cases and consequences:

Upon a calling of a violation in the charter, or a direct attack on another reader/member's character, the following are considered as expected consequences for intentional aggression.

1. Probation: You will be warned by one of the admins, if we consider your behavior to be crossing the guidelines of this charter, through an email to your personal account, unspoken of within the community.

2. Censure: Loss of respect from within the group, and loss of personal posting priviliges on THIS journal. These actions will be implied AFTER you have been publicly warned, in a single entire community news-post.

3. Eviction: Loss of membership, and inability to post entries within this community. Your comments will still be allowed, but will be scrutinized VERY cautiously.

4. TOTAL Abandonment: Loss of ALL communication through this forum, and a report on your transgressions turned in, to the Livejournal abuse department.

Final point, his community is FOR empaths, and I just hope that we can ALL become a family unto ourselves; because for some of us...our online lives, are ALL we have. I hope that we can all get to all the good things in life, now that we have read all the bad.
