Con-nichiwa, Tucson's largest anime con, seeks volunteer staff members :) Nov. 6th, 2010 @ 02:47 am
chokethewind Hi Tucson! My name is Kim and I am in charge of volunteer needs for Con-nichiwa, Tucson's largest anime convention. :) This next year our convention is being held at the Holiday Inn Palo Verde, March 25th - March 27th (Friday - Saturday). This will be our convention's second year, so we've learned important lessons from our first year and are looking to improve! We are currently seeking some volunteer staff members, and there are descriptions available on this page. Email volunteer@con-nichiwa.com if you have any questions - you'll get through to me, and I will respond as immediately as possible. :)We're a friendly, diverse, nerdy bunch! Our staff ranges from 16 years old up to over forty, and we all have tons of fun. We're also the minds that bring you Phoenix Comicon and Saboten-con up in Phoenix, so you will be in good company. ^^ Again, you can email volunteer@con-nichiwa.com if you're interested and want to jump in and build things from the ground up, or you can ask here and I will respond as well! I definitely hope to talk to some of you Otaku soon. :)Tags: activities, help wanted (10 comments | Leave a comment)
Dog Training Aug. 21st, 2008 @ 11:42 am
namibiacoco Hello All,Can anyone suggest a good dog training program? While Ziggy tends to be rather well behaved, after he stole my breakfast from my dining room table, I decided I better be proactive in keeping him well-behaved! I'm hoping for someplace central and not too expensive...Oh and while I'm at it does anyone have suggestions on how to curb his incessant licking habit? Thanks in advance!Coppelia* Current Mood: hopefulhopeful Tags: help wanted, pets, services (4 comments | Leave a comment)
vets Aug. 17th, 2008 @ 09:38 pm
jnphotos I looked through the memories and the answers I found there didn't completely satisfy my questions. So here it is. my dog went over to our friends house for a couple days and he came back limping. He probably ended up playing too roughly with our friend's rottweiler and if he doesn't stop limping in a day or two we're going to get it looked at. I'm wanting to know about what vets would be the least expensive, without sacrificing quality care to take him to get it checked. Also I have a cat that needs to be spayed. The least expensive place I found was $65. Is this a good thing or is there less expensive places? Let me know considering both these animals are pretty new and I haven't had to deal with these things before.Tags: help wanted, pets, services (10 comments | Leave a comment)
OB/GYNs? midwives? pediatricians? Aug. 4th, 2008 @ 04:01 pm
halation i've got two questions, tucson.1). did you / did anyone you know give birth with a midwife from the el rio group that delivers at TMC? i would love to hear about your experience. i'm hoping to have a natural, intervention- & med-free birth barring medical emergency, but the birth center or a home birth are not options for me. 2). we are looking for a pediatrician. husband & i are vegetarian (& will raise our child as such also), will be using cloth diapers & may want to do an alternate / delayed vaccination schedule. any recommendations for a pediatrician? thanks in advance for your suggestions!Tags: health, help wanted (6 comments | Leave a comment)
Any Photographers out there? Jul. 8th, 2008 @ 08:35 pm
finding_bliss Hi guys I am an aspiring musician and I have had the luck of getting some exposure lately and I felt it was about time that I get some publicity photos done. I have had some idea's for quite awhile but haven't gotten them done but no time like the present. I need a photographer preferably someone who is looking to get some good shots for their portfolio and won't charge me too too much. Of course you will be compensated for your time and talent but I don't have alot of dough so hopefully we can work something out. The idea is to have shots taken in and around an old looking church alot of my lyrics have religious metaphores in them and I thought this would be a classy way of showing off that side. If we could find an old catholic church in town that has confessional booths that would be great as well. I may also need two models again hopefully girls who are looking to beef up their port and won't charge me an arm and a leg. One model represents doubt one represents bliss these are just some idea's I am sure someone can really run with this stuff Let me know if you are interested and/or if you know of folks who might be MTags: help wanted, photos (3 comments | Leave a comment)

aesctreow Sooo. Our cat is disgusting. And with the temperature getting hotter (in our apartment as well) we have decided to get our cat a little some serious grooming. I found a few places via google but i'm wondering if anyone can recommend or knows of a better place to get your cats groomed? Preferably inexpensive, but good nice groomers.Thanks. :)Tags: help wanted, pets, services (10 comments | Leave a comment)
Yelp Apr. 11th, 2008 @ 06:18 am
yonica Do you all know about yelp.com?It's a site where people review local businesses, be they restaurants and nightclubs or shops and tattoo studios. And it's got a bit of that whole social networking aspect to it, which actually makes the reviews seem more personal and useful.Anyway, I've started using it and adding to it, but have noticed a hell of a lot of the reviews (I'll go as far as to say the majority) of places in Tucson are written by non or former Tucsonans. This is silly! So, you, Tucsonan, should go review some local stuff, be it good or bad, tame or obnoxious. Thanks!Tags: dining, food, help wanted, nightlife, services (3 comments | Leave a comment)
Traveling mechanic help needed. Apr. 10th, 2008 @ 09:37 am
elf_owl Dear Livejournal,I have a friend who is coming into Tucson in a 1953 bread truck converted to be a moving living space. He is currently having engine troubles, stuck 50 miles from the AZ border. He's wondering if there's any mechanic in Tucson that can help. Here is the website explaining his project. If you or anyone you know can help, please let me know. Actually, his contact info is on the website so you can call or text him directly, which might be easier for communication.Thank you in advance!LTags: help wanted, services (4 comments | Leave a comment)

Babysitters Mar. 9th, 2007 @ 02:32 pm
_luaineach This might be a shot in the dark, but are any of you Tucson parents who can recommend any babysitters? Or any of you babysitters looking for work?We have one kid, a 7-year-old son, and already have an ab fab regular babysitter. We are looking for someone as occasional back up to her (like now, when she just left on vacation for a couple weeks!), mostly on the weekends, times varied. Example: someone to do four or five hours during the day on a Friday or Saturday so we can go and watch some march madness at the bar. :)If uncomfortable posting info in comments, my email is on my info page. Thanks!Tags: help wanted (3 comments | Leave a comment)
