C’est par les notes d’une employée de café fictive qu’ils rendent compte du contenu d’un entretien avec Aleksandra Jasińska-Kania. Les notes évoquent la carrière de la sociologue à travers les courants politiques et théoriques qui l’ont marquée, mais aussi l’atmosphère du lieu de la rencontre — un café dans un quartier de grands immeubles résidentiels en béton, de commerces et de grandes allées au sud de la ville —, et des questions qui chacun les taraudaient.
