Community intended for use by turntable athletes, scratch musicians and anyone who's feelin' this vibe

turntablist (turn'-ta'b'l-ist)
1a) one who has the ability to improvise on a phonograph turntable
1b) "one who uses the turntable in the spirit of a musical instrument"
1c) a musician; a hip-hop disc jockey who in a live/spontaeneous situation can manipulate or restructure an existing phonograph recording (in combination with an audio mixer) to produce or express a new composition that is unrecognizable from its original ingredients.
1d) one who uses the phonographic turntable with a mixer and records, as a component to play, mix, create and orchestrate new and original musical compositions. Using his/her hand(s) to move the record back and forth to rhythmically manipulate the sound in any creative, musical way, the turntablist acts as a Guitarist, Violinist, or a Pianist. Hence the “turntablist”
